A confident jerk isn't something you want to be. I went to a school full of confident jerks, guys who held nothing but contempt for me and anyone who didn't live up to the standard they represented. To this day, I can't visualize any of what's taught on this site without recalling how they used it to amuse themselves with my suffering.

I think you're referring to bullies.

Bullies have lots of insecurities actually, the only way they can cover it up and project their anger is to take it out on someone else...preferrably someone they may be jealous of.

There problem was probably insecurity yes. Most jerks are egotistical bas-tards, adn you don't want to be like that. You want to be super confident and playful, but at the same time you have to act human. You can't go around acting like you actually think you're better than everyone else or you will repel people. You have to know you're good, but don't be really obvious about it.... hard to explain.
