this is a good thread.

In my experience, the asians i have been out with were always aimed at western guys.. and certain asians just are not.

the trick is to find the ones who are aiming at western guys..

for example.. i dunno how long it took me to realize, it didn't work if i met asians in "their territory".. however, if i met them in "my territory", then there was a good chance i could score..

for example, going to meet them in chinatown or asian clubs isn't so good.. not many are geared for westerners

but if u meet one in a western area, good chance she is more interested in a western guy

this sounds obvious.. however most western guys interested in asians miss this point totally (like i did).

You wanna tell the difference between westernized (at least 2+ years) or not westernized, its simple. I live in Frisco I'm assuming this applies for most coastline cities too, but anywayz.

What do they wear?

Westernized chicks shop at all the normal malls, and if they have been around for a while then they probably shop at Abercrombie, Banana, Forever 21, and that type of deal.

The non-westernized ones, especially in SF still wear the junk they get from wherever they used to live. Usually in bright colors and weird...cow designs, they don't match with anything. A typical non-western asian chick would probably wear baggy jeans, an orange jacket, a green t-shirt and mayeb purple shoes...I have actually seen someone like this before, and it kinda set this image in my mind hahaha.

But yea, you can usually tell by how well they've adapted to american culture. if they've done a good job then they passed the cloudy area.

Errr forgot one more thing, usually nonwestern asian chicks go for nonwestern guys, BUT some are intrigued by western asian guys as if they were white. and all western chicks like western guys period regardless of race. I have not once seen or heard of such a thing where a western asian chick went over a nonwestern guy. cuz you can probably find nonwestern asian guys in the dictionary under A F C. plus nonwestern asians have some weird taste in style. thats just my opinion

1. Have any of you dated an Asian girl before and grown to like them?

Or, have you never dated one and just decided you liked the stereotype?

2. Do you not have as much success with girls of your own race? Are you considered a type of outcast in your culture? (I've seen this in the field)

3. Do you prefer their typically thinner body type? Are you thin?

I'm western (italian origin), living in Aus.

1) Most of my ex's have been asian. Nowadays, I will usually only go for asian.. I have come to accept it, instead of fight it.

I think I was always attracted to asian culture from young. I didn't suddenly "turn" one day, or because of one girl.

2) I have had some euro gf's.. its strange I never went for any girls from my own background.. just not AS attracted for some reason.. like if I had to make a choice between 2.

3) Yeah I like their body types (small upper doesn't bother me). I also like dark hair and the classic long straight.. which 80% of asians will have.. with exception to wacko J-girl types, which I find stupid.
I like the facial features too, such as eyes, skin color etc.

yeah I am on the thin side, but not a stick.. and I also can pass for 5+ years younger than my age.

I’ve been reading some of these posts made by other white guys on their infactuation with asian girls and I’m wondering what all the hype is about. (Tell the truth, us asian people of both sexes in general are not attractive by american standards.) Have these guys been looking at one too many asian porn sites on the internet and have been brainwashed? Don't believe everything you read in the New York Times. It seems to me that many, many, many white guys i know got played by the american media. They want Asian man to feel inferior, and if you are trying to pick up on an Asian girl beacuse of what you "heard" or saw in a movie made by the Hollywood stereotypes - docile Asian Gisha *****s that giggle with pretentious shyness or a mud patty sluts that mimic Vietnam war movies with phrases like sucky ****y for a bucky, you better think again. Because they can smell rice kings from miles away. There are many girls out there who have different tastes, and not everyone will prefer the same cut-out of a mold. But I hope that you guys don't judge the entire race by a few random samples. As for Asian women "flying into the arms of Western males", this is a silly exaggeration. Just about all of my female friends <pretty much all asian> never even think about interracial dating and never have before or even been attracted to any non-asian guys. I guess none of the girls i know actually talk to or know non-asian person. No offence to the italian guy above me, but from my personal opinion, 85% of the AFs that date WMs, I wouldn't even look at. That means either they are not my type, or are just fugly -- btw, this is the most common explanation . (Do these guys interpret their ungliness as being “exotic”?) , and have annoying personality flaws, have low self-esteem. So we're not so "bitter" as many of you think.

Sure, there are planty of pretty asian girls here and there, but I usually see them hanging out in these kliquish, rather snobby all-asian male/female groups that don’t associate with anyone else. And there are also planty of AFs who HATE themselves and despite asian men - these girls tend to only look for white guys. I've notice that many of them are west asians (filipinos, thai, cambodian ect)

Okay to answer the question about why people dig asian girls anyways. It has nothing to do with the body, most dont have large breasts, some have asses. if you're really really lucky then both. But facial features are a big plus for asian women. The eyes and lips are usually what captivate the men that are into it.

The asian culture itself is diverse because there's such a huge blend, even though you think you're dating an "asian" chick, she could be mixed with viet, chinese, thai, filipino, korean, jap, among others and that's what can make them attractive. A mix in asian backgrounds is still a mix.

I mean all men are turned on by any female that has a mixed ethnicity that looks good. Most attractive women with mixed ethnic background are almost always twice as hot as any pure bred attractive female. (all white, all chinese, all black) Why else are we attracted to the likes of Beyonce, or Kristen Kreuk, to name a few?

Please dont trash me for the names I picked out, if you think they are ugly thats fine, I just happen to find that most people find them attractive and they are of mixed background.

ok, here's a little insider for all you white guys. i'm half white myself so i can sorta give you the halfer perception.

halfer chicks know what both the western and the eastern living styles. the asian parent is usually REALLY anal about grades, tradition, blah blah blah. the white parent is usually like "wtf? chill out squinty."

so naturally the halfer chick is gonna wanna go for a western type guy because 1) they can be used as a defient act against their asian parent and 2) they usually go against everything that the asian parent stands for.

...however i think i shall investigate how the halfer chick digs the halfer dj...

He's not whining as an AM but merely dispelling these myths that AFs somehow all prefer WMs and dislike their own kind. Self-esteem/pride issues are central to understanding the different types of AFs.

Although CrooK eluded to this briefly in his post, I'll further explain the following:

AFs who date WMs are much more likely to be south/west asian... (ie cambodian, flip, etc.)... if you contrast this to more northernly asian races like korean/chinese, you'll find that this is much less the case, as the level of cultural pride is much likely higher, and therefore can also be seen in any ethnocentricity in their dating as well.

No, I dont think so. Being an Asian guy myself, we tend to have baby faces, which as we all know women DO NOT look for in a man. I'm lucky to have an athletic build but that doesnt help the fact that most western women perceive Asian men as 'weak', in body build and confidence, which is partly the reason Asian women have no problems dating Asian men.

And I agree with you knight, Jap-gals are probably the best women in the world. Im not talking about those that dress weird with weird hairstyles, but the mature dressing ones. I stopped over at Tokyo Airport and shocked at the amount of HB's

vdk hit it on the spot, westernized AF's perceive AMs as 'weak' and sissylike. and im in the same type of deal as vdk too, i have an athletic build and im tall, so that makes me different than probably 90% of the AMs in my city.

No offense but wanted to say something me and my friends noticed. The "dirty" (common) asians races are (and where most the asian hoes come from): filipino, hmong, laos, and the dirtiest, vietnamese
I say this because most of these races are "hardcore" and wanna be gangsters. there are a lot more reasons i could say.

I'm attracted to some asian chicks, but I really haven't seen any hot asian chicks in Colorado at all, so I haven't been on any dates with them. Maybe, most of them(hot ones) are in Cali, and I have never been there to give an opinion. I'm still waiting for Jakethasnake to come on this thread and give us his usual two cents on how great asian chicks are. I prefer latins(like the girl I'm with now is cuban) but that is just me because everyone has there own preference.

I'm not too sure about the wisdom of changing your style based on race. Isn't gauging interest level more important

I never forget i was dating a Korean girl who had only been in Australia for one month, my Korean mate gave me all these rules about not touching or trying to kiss on the first dates. This got me all nervous because i thought what i normally do on dates wouldn't work. Do you know what i found on the dates? she was exactly the same as most girls. I could still read her body language and i proceeded how i usually do. By the way i took it upon myself to break all the rules my Korean mate told me
