Honestly, I'm a hermit right now. All I do is work, and then come home and work. My social circle has fell apart, marriage, divorce, kids, job loss, jobs in other states...etc, everyone is gone or busy. I need to start from scratch creating a Mature social circle. Throw out some tips for me and other guys like me out there.

Here are some thoughts on what I can do off the top of my head.

-join the chamber of commerce. They have a special group for under 40 business owners with social events.
-join a running group
-join the local graphic artist group
-take some formal dance classes

What are you tips on creating new social circles and social circle game?

Be a leader and create an idea that requires people to believe in it.

example: Find a hobby, get really good at that hobby...find other people interested in your hobby, use the art of conversation. Make these people enjoy talking with you...invite these people out to lunch / dinner / get together.....the people who remain in contact with you will be the start of your network.

I'd do the chamber of commerce or some other business group[for women and business contacts][might as well kill 2 birds with 1 stone]. The women there are more likely to be in the same boat as you. they will most likely have more on the ball than the Sat night bar crowd. When I divorced, I hit the bars and befriended the bartenders, but the women out in bars aren't quite what I'd like[most of them]

I think you're on the right track.

Men bond while doing things we enjoy, so joining classes and interest groups are great. Myself, I've taken photography classes and during my last single period I had GREAT succes with formal dance classes.

Formal dance is great fun and a good confidence builder.
