If any of you follow golf, you might be aware of how poorly Tiger Woods has played since the sex scandal. I'm wondering if he might be suffering from a reduction in testosterone. First off, he was shagging all these different hookers. Doesn't having sex with multiple new partners raise your testosterone level (correct me if I'm wrong here)? Now that he has supposedly stopped this behavior maybe his testosterone level has dropped, and maybe he needs that testosterone to compete?

He also spent time in a sexual rehabilitation clinic. If a guy suffers from sexual addiciton, doctors can prescribe medications to reduce a guy's sex drive by lowering his testosterone and increasing his estrogen. I wonder if Tiger is taking any of these medications and if they are messing with his golf game? A guy playing sports needs his competitive edge.

His wife is divorcing him anyway. If he was taking medications to reduce his sex drive he needs to throw them away immediately. Otherwise, it's like locking the barn door after the horse gets out. If this is what's going on, his wife has effectively chemically castrated him.

All "professional" sports competitors NEED RAZOR sharp mental focus. If you loose this...you have basically lost your match (game, event, etc).

Mr.Woods would do better to drop the sexual addiction classes...and start doing one-on-one sessions with Tony Robbins.

He needs his brain back...!

Tiger Woods has been done to death, but does anyone else find it ironic that Tiger's best, peak performances in golf came whilst he was tapping women like an Arab Sultan - with or without his wife's knowledge? Now he's getting divorced and can basically go ƒuck whomever whenever, but his performance is for sh!t.

For the record, Tiger's no more "addicted" to sex than any other Man, the only difference being he had the means and status to indulge in his appetites that few Men could ever hope to. It was his public personae that limited him going all out and getting with more women than we even know about. He had to maintain a sharp focus on his lifestyle while indulging his sexual appetite and that translated into focus on the golf course as well. Now all that's removed. The threat of discovery and the "high" it produced for him are gone. He can relax, but that relaxation is also translating into his golf game now.

It's probably not so much a testosterone thing as much as it is a focus thing. He's likely going through a divorce and it's probably not the same feeling standing in front of those crowds who all now know his sexual history.

It's quite a stretch to attribute the decline in his game to a drop in testosterone levels. It's probably due to psychological factors. The guy's life has undergone a huge shakeup lately. His reputation is in the tank. In order to win, you have to be in the right mental state. Given what's been going in his life lately, it's very unlikely that his morale is doing great.

There is no evidence that sexual encounters or lack thereof have a long term effect on testosterone levels. Some studies done on rats demonstrated that androgen and cortisol levels increased after an ejaculation, but it was only for a short amount of time. Another study done in China showed that abstaining from ejaculation resulted in an increase in testosterone on the 7th day of abstaining, but then it decreased again. I wouldn't read too much into any of these studies because they used small sample sizes.

There's a lot of people claiming this and that increases or decreases testosterone levels but a lot of these claims are questionable at best.

Oh, I agree with that. He was wrong to have been messing around on his wife. But he shouldn't have let her shame him into going into the sex rehab thing in the first place. And he shouldn't have stepped away from golf during that period either. A man gets his self esteem largely from his livelihood. Not playing probably was a big factor in messing up his game as well.
