Hello I am new here and I am a 25 year old man going on 26 soon here in January.

Anyway I have an experience I want to share with dating a young woman. Shes 18 Hasn't been out of high school long. I met her at her work at a grocery store. She approached me as a customer and asked if I was finding everything okay. I told her I like shopping at her store because of the beer selection and she thought it was funny. This intrigued me about her because she thought I was funny. I asked if I could find rechargeable batteries and some cans of Arizona tea. She got my batteries and couldn't get me my tea. However at check out she was bagging my groceries and I was looking at her not so sure if I'd be attracted to her but decided hell why not ask her out? So we are leaving the store I am just being friendly asking her questions about her then I just ask her for her number and she says SURE. I got it she told me just to text her... So I did.

Then later that night we text and she asks how old I am I tell her then she says that's not too bad. Then I got her age of course too and before we had our first date we'd talk on the phone. Even tried to go out one night but the weather was bad. However the first date we just met up at a local BBQ but after finding out she don't eat meat well I decided to go to the park with her. We just walked along a trail and conversed. Later bought some drinks I bought her a yoohoo. Then we went to my place and visited... The weather got bad and she had to get going because her van windows do not function right lol... So before she left I asked her if she wanted to continue with a confused look on my face. She then said yes only if you want to... Then I reached out for a hug and gave her a kiss... Boy it was awesome I even got my tongue in there lol... hugged again deeply.. made out... Then I let her in my place but before I did I had to put some stuff away. I felt bad leaving her out in the rain! I told we should make out but then she was like I don't wanna rush things... So I asked her if itd be awkward for her then she nodded. I even said to her we don't have to have sex tonight even... lol Then she took off in her van soon after.

I got 9 more dates after this mostly just chillin at my place other times we meet up ride in the car make out. Watch movies, lunch,... ect. I was escalating even pushing for the sex early on. However this gal was giving me the no's. I'd touch her 22D cup boobs and ass. Hell I even messaged her ***** one time we made out and she didn't let my head go! HAHA However she got up and left because it was getting dark which made me feel awkward. Come to find out this gal had just got out of a non serious relationship that was on and off with her ex boy friend so it was just superficial. (dunno how long never felt it was my business) He even came back to her while we were dating and she admitted to me this and told him she cant do it no more. Also referred to him as JUST a friend. Before that she had a guy for 5 years as a young preteen and moved away then couldn't do the long distance thing she tried though.

Anyway on the 8th date I asked if we could make it official. Before that I asked her once what was going on with us. She said she wanted to be my girl friend at that time and we were close but she didn't wanna rush anything. So whatever but when I asked her this on the 8th date she gave me the "I just got out of a relationship" partial rejection crap. I didn't understand this because we were dating exclusively and doing what a girl and boy friends do. She had asked me after a few dates if I was serious about wanting her as a GF I told her yes. This gal is like a HB9 or HB8.5 easy. Hottest gal I have ever dated to date. Then after we made out I said okay girl friend with a tease and smile. She didn't like this and took offense to it. Told me just to call her by her first name. I got tired of people at my work asking me how my girl friend is doing. Id tell them shes not mine yet. Shouldn't have let this bother me... Then on the way home I could tell and by saying I do not understand why and left it at that. She had that loosing interest look on her face. I knew this wasn't good. Made me a bit insecure...

Then out on our last date I took her to dinner. I admitted I had developed an insecurity being the rebound guy. She reassured me I wasn't and said she don't need to be with anyone. So that let me rest easy and I couldn't just text her that issue she only really liked ot text. Rarely would she ever text me on her own but always got back to me. ALWAYS. I usually just texted her to make plans and talk a little after she got off work. I still called but she just prefered texting... Bleh... Anyway we get done with dinner and she wants to watch a movie at her place I tell her nah I don't wanna smell the cigs and that we cant be personal with eachother over there. She even stated that in her text once too. After that she said she don't wanna do that everytime we are together. This upset me... she saw it and was using the its me not you BS cliche line. Then we watch the movie I really wasn't that interested we were still flirting and all. By the end of the night as we were driving home she was trying to friend zone me by saying I have lots of guy friends. I told her I don't care... she was trying to get a lead up but didn't have the courage to do it. We just didnt kiss at all that night.

So I try to make follow up plan when she was free she had plan but told me she'd get back to me about my plans with her. So I was like okay... Then I text her follow up with it the next night and well I was ignored for the first time ever. Then the next morning she send me a cowardly text saying. "I think we are two different people and a relationship wont work. I dunno when I'll see you again but lets just be friends. sorry." I replied with "bye" a few minutes after she sent that disrespectful crap! I called her once and texted her that same day and she ignored me.

Then after a few days of letting it all out like a wussy. I tried calling she hung up hung up and hung up on me. I got through asking her why? She listened but was asking me if we could talk about this tomorrow. Of course she never did. I skipped that day then called her one last time asking her to just talk to me only if she wanted to.

Now I see her at her work and she just avoids the hell out of me and wont make eye contact like an immature person. I no longer care but for a gal that never cared about me she sure gets emotionally tweaked... Buyers remorse? Either way I dont give a crap no more.

Just an immature 18 year old who recently turned 19 like a few days ago. I am better off I will find a woman who is respectful, mature, and brave.

Think I screwed up by being too serious and allowing myself to become emotionally invested... Not quite sure to make of this but its so weird...

When you want to get sexual with a woman, you shouldn't be discussing it. Women love it when things just 'happen naturally'. Discussing the act of making out isn't sexy nor exciting.

This is the same thing. You NEVER mention the word sex. You just do it. Take her by the hips and pump the hell out of her. Never worry that you're rushing things. You need to be confident that you're attractive enough for her to want to sleep with you. If she's not ready, she'll let you know.

ALWAYS let the woman bring up the subject of being exclusive. If you're lost about where you are as a couple, then you should be dating other women.

Women need their men to be confident and strong. They want to feel safe and protected when they're around him. This does not make a woman feel safe and protected. It makes her feel like she's dating a chihuahua who pissed on the floor.

Just an immature 18 year old who recently turned 19 like a few days ago. I am better off I will find a woman who is respectful, mature, and brave.

Women at that age may still be doing stupid things, but it doesn't mean they're not attracted to (or repulsed by) the same thing that a woman in her mid-20s is.

Yeah I dunno it depends on the gal I guess. Both my ex girl friends never had an issue with talking about sex nor did they make me wait. I got sex on the first and second dates lol... This was completely different for me I never experienced the whole wait maybe I dunno stuff. I was very inexperienced in this matter and was very confused!

Heck I just saw her again at her work and she deliberately avoided me when I came to the register to buy my beer... Well its her problem not mine as I am over it...

I still cannot figure out what I did to tick her off so bad but does it matter? Not anymore.

So next time I encounter a gal like this I should probably just friend zone her first if I feel confused about the status of the so called relationship. I was getting bored with it myself I even asked her what she wanted from me in person. She said she was caught off guard with that question and would get back to me on our last date. Then I reminded her of it in a text a couple days later. She gave me "I don't know..."

I kinda liked taking it slow for once it was nice and I really enjoyed getting to know her.

She and I seemed to be pretty open in our conversations we got along well lol... So I thought. Sure we were different people with different interest we had nothing in common! This woman is really honest too and follows through with everything she says. I trusted her thus caused my own heart ache... I had oneitis over this woman for sure.

She rarely took offense to anything I said and I didn't apologize when she gave me that awkward look.

I felt so weird asking someone to be my girl friend? So odd I never had to before... I do not want to do that mistake EVER AGAIN!

I lost my virginity at age 22... however I have come a long way since then. Dating and life is an ever learning experience thats for sure! My last GF lost her virginity to me at age 29! I seek relationships with women because I am emotional person... As for being single my whole life I do not have a problem with it, but the loss I feel with failures sucks. I left her go obviously and did the best thing for me by walking away. I am not even sure she meant friendship but she was trying to spill the beans in person...

When she did reassure me about my insecurity she said "it happens" like its not a big deal...

I said to her it sounds like he likes you and on one of our nights together this guy was sending needy texts it made me giggle. He liked her and she just reminded him hes just a friend! LOL I felt so sorry for that guy and I almost told her that too.

This chick wonders why her guy pals no longer hang out with her when they find girl friends. She don't know men very well nor their intentions as her orbiting pals... I never got to explain it but gosh she doesn't know what shes doing to these poor dudes or maybe she does? Either way they allow it.

I agree with Desdinova and bugsquish on this one.

1st- NEVER verbalize physical intimacy. Just go as far forward PHYSICALLY as you and her are both comfortable.

2nd- NEVER push for a labeling of a relationship. Just do romantic and/or sexual things and let her decide what label she wants to put on it. Let the idea of her calling you her boyfriend be her idea first. If she doesn't use that label, it doesn't matter. If it looks like a rose and smells like a rose and feels like a rose, who cares what you call it?

3rd- This is basically recapping points one and two. NEVER state with words what you can state more powerfully with action. Let your behavior determine where things go.

Now on to what bugsquish said. There's a good possibility she got back with her on again off again boyfriend, aka, the ex. This isn't a regular ex. He's more like a yo-yo than a true ex. They break up, then they get back together and the cycle goes back and forth. This means that unless she meets someone she's crazy about, she will at the very least be open to sexual liasons with the no-strings-attached ex boyfriend/ friend with benefits.

So there is the possibility they became involved again. Another possibility is that by pushing for a label, pressuring her to "be your girlfriend" (even though you were already doing boyfriend/girlfriend things together), and by making an issue of it, you created un-necessary conflict. You created an issue out of a non-issue. Basically, you were already acting like a couple and had you just continued playing that role without creating an issue out of it, she would have eventually brought up the relationship idea.

Like most women, she would either ask where the relationship was heading or simply ASSUME a relationship and start expressing this verbally by saying that you're her boyfriend.......... By creating an issue and then nagging her, you became annoying. And that annoyance could have easily started killing the attraction that was there. Think this can't happen?

Ever see a cute baby but after it kept screaming and getting on your nerves you wanted to get away from it? Ever go into debt for an item you wanted and sometimes questioned whether or not the item was worth it because you were tired of making payments? Were you ever attracted to a woman but then started getting tired of her behavior? This is at least part of what happened here. Anyway, no mystery here, but this was something that may have caught you off guard.

There were other issues as well. I met her while I was getting out of the USAF which I have been out almost a month now. Wanted to make us work by staying in the area instead of moving but yeah... it would have been a daunting task for her to commit to me. Since I planned on going in the Air National Guard to retrain for four months. She however kept giving me hope that she was willing to make it work. Talked about the future and well she simply changed her mind about me and I turned her off by being an annoying grown man...

Also I am outdoorsy type shes a urban city gal more into that than I. I liked guns she didn't... However she was cool with it being my thing. I like meat and other foods shes mostly vegan... However she did eat chicken on our last date. Of course we both got sick afterwards... ugh she was puking I had flu symptoms and an upper respiratory infection.

I wanted to make it work but she didn't see it as a viable option... I expected a lot from a young woman getting started in the adult world which I am accustomed to as a mature man whom she admired my maturity and well established self in the beginning. She lives with her folks and I have my own place so yeah... Way too much pressure from me which was unfair to her.

Just chocking it up to another learning experience that's all I can do. Shes done gone over and will never regain that attraction she initially had for me.

Not all is lost but I can find a new woman its not like shes the only hot and down to earth woman I can ever meet. I may find someone whos a way better match than her!

Well I haven't even been close to being married I personally do not see the rush. I wanna know someone for like 3 to 5 years to even consider doing that! I think I am doing really well for a guy my age and not having that baggage I have seen many marriages fail in the military its horrible even my own relationships. My ex ex gal was an army chick who couldnt live without me psychically for two weeks while I was on an excercise so she cheated on me but I bought that on my self for not trusting her and being jealous. I lost my virginity to her she was 17! Well she wanted to rush into marriage and she tried treating me like a DOORMAT lol I was constantly saying NO. So I am better off she met her rebound and well two weeks after me and she married him! haha

BTW my ex EX GF the one I am talking about her. She wanted to demote me to friendship but after I rejected it she came crawling back... heh Sometimes it works.

My friend whos 27 she told me when she was 18 she just avoided the guys she dumped too and its just an immature thing.

I haven't accepted any dates as of yet my friend. I just talk to these women when I am out and about being myself making eye contact they are receptive to it... lol I even see them checking me out and I look like a gnarly backwoods hillbilly with glasses and a beard. My confidence must be showing and shining I guess. I smile and say hi they do too. I will be moving to a city soon here where there are tons of attractive women who would enjoy my company! I find it silly now I was stuck on this woman I got no where with. It just had been awhile since I actually found a gal I connected with. souds like girls are attrated to you....ut you really desire a relatioship too depserately.....they feel this.....i am the opposite...diffiult to start the datig...howeer, they stik like glue too muh after a few dates.....i thik you should stop lookig for a relatioship ad just look for good times with whoeer you are seeig.....the the relatioship will preset itself trust me.....to me you already do the diffiult part howeer, fault o the easy part due to desperate for relatioship.....just a weakess....your head....easily solutio though....
