I'd feel the same, and would had aborted if given the option. Chances are the family/relationship is strained and that person is going to need help for the rest of his life. Life is hard enough with out special needs. I feel for her and her family. Imagine waking up each day to a living nightmare?

Can't support your opinion on that. I get that it's hard and sometimes they think these things and need to vent. I don't think they'd want to "undo" the situation they're in, if you know what I mean, but it's definitely a struggle that brings a lot of frustration.

Her life is hard enough with the choices she has made, you don't need to make it harder. You're the one with no heart who beats someone who's down, leave her be.

With an autistic kid, doubt she has time. I've heard, the bad ones, can really make you wish you were dead.

Just think of how ill prepared the average person is the raise the average child. Nevermind if the child has special needs.

I personally never want kids so this'll never be a problem for me but I can definetly understand someone being overwhelmed in that situation

I know a few parents with kids that have autism. It's a f ucken nightmare. One has the week off and her younger son is going to his father for a the week and the older one is staying with her. Ages 6 and 11. She also feels guilty, but said she needs the break. IDK, it's a toss-up. Since it cannot be prevented or tested for, it's always been a concern of mine if/when I have kids. Scary sh it this autism BS. The parents go through hell and it can destroy a family. Another couple have one kid and they would like another. They are too afraid of creating another kid that might have autism, so they are not going to try for another one. The dude went so far as to freeze his sperm and get a vasectomy.

Is there no system available to relocate the child if she's on the verge of a mental break? This sounds more like someone that is conflicted internally by whatever and using the kid as a scapegoat. I mean sure beats being accountable with yourself when your life sucks, super convenient.

Maybe she'd be better if the kid were gone but if she were really a kick-ass person would something like this stop her from finding some kind of solution? Hell no. Reddit is full of karma wh0res that say whatever to get attention/validation, it's pathetic and vapid. Raise your awareness @sosousage

Don't judge people until you walk in there shoes. Many have no idea what hell it is to have a special needs child, especially if you don't have the resources to take care of them. As they get older, it only becomes worst and harder. I have a cousin that has two, one is 30, the other is 25... the 25 yo is at least semi-functional, and can actually hold down a job and did finish HS. The 30 year old if BIG... and he can become violent... he has to be kept drugged up, and has to wear an adult diaper. They have ZERO quality of life.... NONE.... and all they do is worry what is going to happen to them when they become too old to care for them.

One women how used to work for me got cancer and died, she had a special needs child, who had grown to adulthood. At her funeral he honestly didn't give a fvck... he just kept complaining that he wanted to go home and watch TV. Not only do you sacrifice EVERYTHING, you are doing it for a person that honestly has no empathy for what you are going through and who doesn't give two-fvcks about you.

that’s really sad to think about.I agree that we shouldn’t judge this woman who posted... if I were her I’d lose my mind. She was just trying to do the right thing and she knew at the time that if she aborted she would have regretted it later. It does destroy relationships and marriages. The families have a difficult life and really no one gives a fuk about what they go through on a daily basis.

With the given knowledge about human history I have a bet that abortion based on genetic imperfections would go very far and be trendy in the future

No ones likes drags, we should be honest about it.

If you are a millionare and you get a down kid no big deal you will make 2 normal ones and you'll be fine while someone will be paid to take care of him.

If you are someone living a normal life you not only have that problem but that problems prevents you to have the kind of family you always wanted, its understandable to be pissed off.

Previous civilizations would have just left the baby out in the wild to die. Abortion sounds like a more humane route to go.
