A comment was made about Bootcamps. Go ahead and start one up. We have one running every couple months on here anyways.

Also I have to throw in that I like Karma have never read a Pook post! Idc I've seen many other great posters on here that helped me and I've learned from.

I don't think this forum is going downhill. I registered back in the day (and had been lurking for a couple of months before that) and I remember the crowd back then talking about the "golden days" of this forum. Time changes, and everything has to come to an end. Heh, it's fresh blood in and old blood out.

A new crowd has taken over the forum. I remember back in the day that this forum was more geared toward getting chicks and getting laid. Nowadays, it's "breaking out of the matrix" that is on the agenda. I see people writing long posts, trying to motivate each other, but it doesn't seem like anyone is testing this stuff out in the real world. To be honest, I never liked Pook's 3000 page posts, they were too long and too theoretical for my taste. And I still don't like long ass posts with mental masturbation that the MM forum is filled with.

As Yoda said : "Do or do not. There is no try." Instead of writing a long ass mental masturbation thread, people should go out and try out the tips they've gathered on this forum. That's what I used to do, and I believe that's much more effective than to spend ungodly hours on this forum, and mentally jerking each other off.

And of course, there are also those female attention *****s that clutter these forum. I really don't understand what the hell they are doing on a male forum. We used to have Wyldfire, but now it seems like there is an attention ***** at every corner, especially after that whole LS thing.

The 'golden days' is very subjective guys...

When I first stumbled upon this place it was like discovering Eden. I spent literally hours on end reading the Articles, Tips, and Hall of Fame on the main site. I printed sections off and brought them to school so I could read them during class.

Every thread in the forums was interesting and I learned many new concepts each day. I went out and applied concepts as I was comfortable with them. Gradually I became more self-confident and managed to somewhat break free of my youth(still have some lingering around, it will take a long time before I consider myself a "DJ", mostly in the field of my profession and career.).

Gradually the board loses its lustre to us, as we've seen most of the information before, and it becomes less of a novelty.

The key is to keep learning, and keep applying what you learn.

I've asked myself a couple times now if I could just walk away from everything that I do in my life, and i realized I can, because one of the things that drives me is new experiences. After a while, new experiences get few and far between on this board.. At that point, for me it will be time to move on.

The great thing about this site is that it's like an online journal of your life. You can see how you thought and acted 'back in the day', in contrast to how you are now.

I don't blame people who move on, or think them arseholes... I might be on that road at some point too, as life changes and time goes on.

Everyone will have their 'golden days' when they first show up and are like a sponge to all the new information here.

Some of what squirrels said has some merit. The site needs to get back to its grassroots of just posting about women and the pursuit of manhood. The b!tching about the femanatrix needs to stop. The negativities, the gangups, etc. all need to end as well.

But squirrels, you are anything but the proper messenger for this. All of your recent posts have been just as worthless as the junk you complain about all the time. All I ever see from you anymore is talk about how far this site has fallen, or how much the mature man sucks, or how your sick of this or that.

Yeah, what you say might be true to an extent, but I fail to see how you're helping anything with strings of posts like these.

Besides, the site isn't all that bad. You and I have been around for nearly the same amount of time, and we're roughly the same age as well. I can remember distinctly all the regs complaining about "how bad this forum has fallen" four years ago. There is a term sociologists use to describe this kind of nostalgic thinking and unfortunately I can't remember what it is. But basically, it's the notion that society will always think it was better off five or ten years ago. I know personally, that I wish it was still the late 90s.

Anyway, what I'm getting at is, this forum suffers from the same thing. All the regs will always think it was way better five years ago. I'm sure in the year 2012 I will be pushing 30 and talking about how badly I wish the forum could go back to where it was five years ago.

I went back and searched through my old threads and there was consistently the same garbage on there, kids ganging up on others, etc.

Sorry squirrels, but

Since there is already a lot of negativity in this post, I'm just going to jump to the offering some possible solutions part. You wanna know something that will improve this forum? Kill the rep system. That's right. Ever since someone got the second green square under their name I swear the behavior of this forum changed in an instant. Like some weird power struggle or something. There really is no need for the rep system. You feel a sense of achievement when something works in real life, or a poster tells you your advice worked, not through some artificial system. Pook had a lesson in his blog a long time ago, and it concluded with "You will know the tree by its fruit" line. That applies here just as much. You will recognize a good poster when you read the person's posts. That's all there is to it. If you like someone's post, post a well-thought reply in praise. To me, that's worth infinitely more than a couple of points. It's as simple as that. There is no need for a pseudo-rep system involving points and green squares. I know the intentions of such a system are good, but it takes away from the realness of this forum (haha oxymoron i know). How do I know it will work? Because look at Pook. People remember you if you post good posts... that's the only criteria! We did it with seduction, now lets cut through the BS of this too.

I'll be damned, I'm surprised that anyone else thought about this too. I thought about this when it started and didn't think it would be very beneficial, almost like post counts (there I said it). I turned off the ability for people to give me points soon after it was turned on.

Nothing more pathetic than seeing so many people sweating to nurture a stuck up, holier-than-thou attitude, and then prey on a weak guy as if he was the devil incarnate for his supposed negativity, lazyness or cluelessness. Your supposed intent is to make these persons become worthy men by adopting the right mindset, but then you preach the exact reverse by berating them to no end?

Far worse than these "whiners" and these "pests" who ultimately, share themselves as they are, with all their defaults and their awful sides. Just ignore the posts you don't like instead of playing such fake, rude smug guy personas.

Well just so you know Pook ripped off a lot of material from the Bible as well as Shakespeare and incorporated it into his epic posts.

The teaching you mentioned here is from Jesus Christ himself I believe in the New Testament.

Good teaching for sure even if one is not a Christian.

Some forums remove all status symbols such as posts and whatever else. Everyone is then equal but since I hate communism and a forum looking boring I can't support this idea of yours. Plus I like how we've got choice here to disable rep or leave it up. Under a communist system the choice is made for you.

Eh, I don't know if I would call it communism... I'm just making a case that it serves a redundant purpose and possibly distraction. I mean anybody who stays here for a month or two will get a good idea of who writes good posts anyway. Isn't that already 'reputation'? This forum seemed to be working fine when no one payed attention to the rep system. Not only that, this rep system can be skewed. I for one have already seen the "rep me and I'll rep you" type of mentality. To me, that just creates a false representation and a distraction from the goals of this site. I hope it's a very small percent of the posters who see this as some rep race (because I know there are some out there), and if they do, hopefully they wont forget why they are really here.

Since you brought it up, I'm sure there are other ways to avoid the 'forum looking boring' thing. Avatars? :D :cheer:
