Just like the song, I've been thinking of going out to California for a few years. I have a job that will let me work anywhere in the country once I get my degree and the thought of living in a constant 71 degrees and sunny enviroment has sparked my interest in the cold windy New England winter. I also have a cousin out there who is willing to help support me if I get into financial trouble.

What are some good places to live in California? I want to live somewhere that's near a beach, not TOO crowded, lots of nightlife, and friendly.

Dude I'll tell you str8 up.

#1 San diego

#2 Orange county

#3 Los Angeles

Each has thier differences but you cannot go wrong with #1 or #2. And from my experiences and what all my friends from the east coast tell me, your not gonna be able to compare the nightlife to the east. No comparison. East takes the cake EX. the hottest club in LA was kicking people out saturday at 1:45 pm. and you get to the club at 11:30-12 cause its empty before then lookin desparate. The chix are HOT, but you got a very short window to work in. Oh and you have to lie about what you do in LA, late!

Constant 71 degreees!?
Thats BS
In spring all the way through fall its usually in the low 80s, Peaks up to the mid 90s in may-april, than 100's during the summer
I only like winter.. its nice and cool

But to help you out:

You wanna live close to the beach? Thats pretty expensive if you dont have the right job/funds

I'd recommend you living in West Covina, Highland Park, or somewhere in the Inland Empire
West covina is like 20 minutes away from Los Angeles and not too far from the beach
Highland Park is in L.A. but kinda ghetto but I like it :D
And the Inland Empire is a bunch of cities.. its great though.. not too far from L.A. or the beach ethier

San Diego is where it is at. I made the decision and moved to San Diego a little over 2 years ago and it has been the best decision I ever made. It may be crowded in spots but all the people I have met have been friendly and I have developed some very good friends. The women are great. In San Diego there are 3 big uni's and plenty of women just waiting for you to approach them.

I would have to agree with him. I live in San Diego, and if I could choose, I would choose Orange County. It's right smack in the middle of San Diego, LA, and then you're still not that far from Mexico if you decide you want to do the Spring Break thing. Plus one of the best clubs I've ever gone to is in that area. "Silks of Pechanga". Just a thought.

bro juss come down to the OC

youll be set for life.

Westwood/Glendale/Palos Verdes/Ventura/Encino...pretty good areas too, but since i live in the OC i have experience with the life styles here and prefer it way over the life style/crowd in LA area.

San Diego is kinda a sleepy town to be honest so if you're looking for the party you want to be closer to LA.

Maybe you're just a loser because in my circle there are parties every night. :)

I'm from the Bay Area, if you're looking for a place up here, Santa Cruz is probably your best bet. It's got the beach boardwalk, which is alright... but most these other professional marketers are on the money with San Diego/Los Angeles. SoCal is where it's at with the social scene. A lot of my comrades are moving to San Diego because the median rent/mortgage is much lower down there. Great weather, 8's 9's and 10's for days, and an overall haven for networkers. You could do some damage in SoCal if you want to.

Men frequently err by talking too much. They often monopolize conversations, droning on and on about topics that bore women to tears. They think they're impressing the women when, in reality, they're depressing the women.

Off on a tangent...

I was browsing through my old english text from high school the other day. It said that there will be more hispanic people living in California than white people in 2010. Any truth to this?

Btw, I'm definatly going to move to California after I'm done with law school.

Got on a board a west bound seven forty seven
Didn't think before deciding what to do
All that talk of opportunities, TV breaks and movies
Rang true, sure rang true.

Seems it never rain in Southern California
Seems I've often heard that kind of talk before
It never rains in California
But girl, don't they warn ya
It pours man it pours.
Out of work, I'm out of my head
Out of self respect I'm out of bread
I'm under loved I'm under fed
I wanna go home
It never rains in California
But girl don't they warn ya, it pours, man it pours.

Will you tell the folks back home I nearly made it
Had offers but don't know which one to take
Please don't tell them how you found me
Don't tell them how you found me give me a break
Give me a break

Seems it never rains in Southern California
Seems I've often heard that kind of talk before
It never rains in California
But girl, don't they warn ya
It pours man it pours
