Yeah so i'm pretty depressed. I have been STD/Disease free my entire life (i'm 22)...partly because I wasn't very sexually active at all. I had a sexual relationship with a girl in December, and everything was fine. More recently, I had a sexual relationship with another girl probably in late April, and I noticed groups of these flat, dark colored, pimple-like things on my pubic region above my penis (nothing ever actually on the penis). A couple days ago I did a blood/urine test, so I guess I'll wait a week or two for the results of that, but I really don't know what to do. I feel really upset, especially since the sex was lousy, and I used a condom (but when does that even matter anymore). I just hate the fact that i'll have this for the rest of my life, and that I can possibly give it to other girls.

Here's a link to a picture of it and no you don't have to look, and yes i'm gonna try to set up an appointment with my doctor, but i'm sure it'll probably take forever to get, knowing kaiser.

Anyone who HAS HPV and can possibly give some advice, it would be appreciated. Thanks.

looks like ingrown hairs to me. you go against the grain or with when u trim? I don't think hpv affects guys anyway, i've always heard guys never know they have it, but girls can possibly get warts or have an 18% increased chance for cervical cancer. Maybe you've got the herpes?

Yeah i'm gonna try to schedule an app. as soon as possible when they're open on Monday. As I said, I did a blood/urine test recently so I hope they're gonna test for herpes too. I honestly really hope that it's ingrown hairs but I pretty much never shave, and it was there before. I just shaved to get a better view.

You don't have hpv. HPV is warts. Those are not warts.

I think you have molluscum contagiosum:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Molluscum_contagiosum

I've had it and am an armchair expert. I think I can see the depressed top in one of the sores. They look like whitehead zits. Common folliculitis is very similar, and hard to tell apart.

You have to go to a dermatologist. STD clinics and general practitioner docs are a waste of time. They are idiots about molluscum. A derm physician's assistant is cheaper than a derm doc and just as good. I had a pa curette out my sores when they showed up. It scabs over and heals in a few days. She was kind of hot, too. The second best treatment is apple cider vinegar, soak a little piece of cotton and then tape over the sore. The acidity slowly burns off the sore; this works the same on warts, too. Stop shaving, that spreads it. That's why you have all the little sores, the razor spread them.

In a month or two, you will start having only a few sores, then within six to eight months you will be free of it. Once a sore is curetted, you are not contagious, I at least thankfully did not spread it to anyone. It's like the chicken pox virus; it is of the pox family. Once you have it, you tend to build a strong immunity against it.

Yeah, that looks like ingrown hairs. I don't think its anything to really worry about.

If its HPV of the wart variety, at least be glad thats it. The other strands of HPV go undected in men and can cause cervical cancer in women depending on the strain. The non-wart variety doesn't effect men besides making us its carrier.

They weren't pimples you fag...Go kill yourself. Anyway, I just went to the doctor today, and yeah he said that he thinks that it was/is a fungal infection, and he also had my blood/urine tests and I was negative on pretty much everything (he said herpes/HPV can't be tested that way). I do wish he spent a little more time looking at it, but i'm relieved that I most likely don't have anything. He prescribed me Clotrimazole Cream, which the pharm. actually told me, is OTC. Oh well, at least I have a clear mind now.

Doctors are idiots about dermatology, unless you go to an actual dermatologist. If your sores don't go away, or more come back, go to a derm next time. I was misdiagnosed three or four times by well-meaning general practitioner docs.

For sure...The medication states that if it doesn't go away within 2 weeks, to go back, and that's what i'll do. But this was from my personal doctor, and I have a lot of respect for anyone with an MD.

I have/had HPV.

No warts. About 5 girls i've had sex with in the past 5 years have said they had hpv when they went to the doctor. Luckily none have been any of the cervical cancer strands.

Each time the doctor said it'd clear up on its own.

Condoms help with this but don't fully protect you from getting it. It's something like 70% of people get this.

I read an article a few weeks ago that canada is arguing about giving the hpv vaccine to boys too because they're getting record rates of oral cancer from it! Haha....

A girl i sex that i probably gave hpv to is going in soon to get the vaccine. Her insurance covers it fully. The strand she has isn't dangerous and the gyno said it would clear up itself within 6 months. But it does suck because the scrapy test they do makes it so they can't have sex for about 2 weeks. We tried after 5 days and she started to bleed and cried afterwards. Typical sex for me ;)

Vaccine protects against specific "agressive" strains only *before* you get infected with that strain.

You only give girls these strains you have. If the girl already got it/them, then vaccination can't protect her against strains she already got. But it does protect against some new agressive strain. If HPV virus is in your organism, it stays there for ever. Papillomas can periodically get worse or disappear, but the virus causing them stays. It is also always contagious, although if there are visible warts, the virus secedes much more.

You, and men, could also get vaccinated against HPV. That would ensure you wouldn't pick up a new agressive HPV and give it to all the girls you have sex with.

Although men dont't get penis cancer from HPV, like girls can get cervix cancer. But like you said men can get oral cancer, because HPV penis->womans mouth->they kiss and->mans mouth.

Anyway, you can't protect yourself from HPV strain you already have, only from the strain you don't have yet.
