By the way, many of the dead children in Lebanon are Christians (35-40% of Lebanon is Christian still). Many churches in Lebanon have also been destroyed or badly damaged because of the Israeli missiles. Sorry, but Fox News does not show pictures of the damage that Israel has done to churches and other important Christian landmarks.

Um, SoSuave is an American-based website, therefore I am obviously referring to AMERICAN TELEVISION networks. And the BBC is broadcast on FM radio, no web access required.

I've actually traveled the globe and the BBC has been my primary news source on many occasions (I don't listen to the radio, I'm not even sure if the power antenna even works on my car the CD player is on so much) On some subjects they definatly america bash but on others they're all cheeks ang giggles. Although I love american I still think there's a great deal wrong with what's happening here but that's another discussion...and no I don't want a eutopia or to leave because other parts of the world are equal jacked or worse (I've seen it first hand).

Sometimes I feel like it's just a real life version of the Sims, or some other game where propaganda and BS news stories are concocted to see the effect on people.

Even IF terrorists wanted to bomb planes, why bother with planes? Look at what they did. And bottom-line, terrorists DON'T gain from such situations, governments do.

How?

Just look and watch and wait and see. People will BEG for more laws, more protection, and just like the mafia, they'll oblige, and do so in extremely harsh ways. When 9-11 occurred, it was the Constitution-trashing "Patriot Act" that was the extreme birth of those unfortunate days. Now, people will be limited to what they can bring on planes, and from what I've heard so far, laptops will have to be stored, IF they're even allowed on at all. You can store much in a laptop, and even disassemable it to use the parts individually as make-shift bombs. Lithium batteries in water can disastrous effects.

Am I only the one who sees this? We have a plasma/flat @ the office, and all I hear all day is the bad shyt wrong in the world. Nothing about beauty. Nothing about triumph. Nothing about valor. Nothing about virtue. I hear about the market collapsing, the CEO's stealing funds from major companies, police chases in California practically everyday, how Israel is blowing the crap out of Lebanon, how kids are being killed over there, and now...this.

I've long since tuned out, but the publics gut reaction tells me how deep they are programmed to REACTION just as the perpetrators expect. If ANYTHING, our INTERNATIONAL image is SO damaged, WE DESERVE all the crap we get. Why? Because, it's up to the people to take charge and responsibility. Even if the electoral votes WERE fixed, it is still up to the people in the end. We are "hoping" those elected represent us BEST, both domestically and internationally. As American citizens right now, can we really say that? Granted there's a level of clearance to which the public can't know everything, but we're in a territory where most people feel we're just chattle/sheeple, stupid to be told anything but local news and the weather.

Most of the stuff over seas, and traumatic indicents domestically are created, manifested, and designed for some outcome. We spend 100x our education budget, and YET, the brightest minds in the government and corporate america working under the charge of the elected government CANNOT stop Liquid Bombs? PLEEEEASEE. They have bombs even the PUBLIC does not know about, and now you tell me some small-time outfit finds ways to make and get bombs on planes? NO WAY. These are outfits of the government who plan and stage covert operations and psyops...and you want to tell me trained minds and soldiers are TRICKED, though they the MOST funds available AND time, the world over? NO WAAAY, again. Our defense budget is well over 500 billion NOW, and you can't tell me as a 26 year old voter, that that 500 billion plus IS NOT KEEPING OUR "threat LEVEL" below orange! DOES NOT HAPPEN. They have virtually LIMITLESS funds, since they can print money, and yet, people foreign and domestic can pull off stuff that boyscouts would? Not a chance.

And perhaps, again, we deserve it, because the country doesn't care. They aren't willing sacrifice everything this country was founded on and everything our ancestors fought for to create it. Rather, they will ONLY concern themselves WHEN it bumps into their reality OR they can't buy, drink, fvck, inject, watch, view, gripe, or any OTHER vice and addiction you can think of is curtailed.

I had to get that off my chest, because given all the common sense I possess, all I know from history, it doesn't take an insider to SEE that the biggest person to benefit is the government who would DELIGHT in people requesting the curtailment of MORE freedoms in return for social restraint. Its disgusting. It's always the "out there" phenomen. And people so ignore of what's going on and been going on, are very quick to judge foreigners, islamists, arabs, and anyone else that fits the profile of a terrorists. So long as they generate the fake boogeyman, we'll occupy countries that don't want us. Is the world ANYMORE safer NOW than it was when we first invaded IRAQ, IRAN, etc...? I doubt it. In fact it's not. We've roused the hornets nest and now they're retaliating relentlessly and won't stop.

If I hear one more secretary talk about how "unsafe" the world is, or "how we have to get the terrorists", I'm going to ape myself. It's bad enough people ONLY get the news from news sources so under the watch of the FCC and FTC they can't report ANY other perspective, but to actually REGURGITATE this as opinion is crap. Two times.
