Not sure if this is where this goes, but I had to share this. I recently picked up the book The Way of the Superior Man. By luck I happened to stumble across it in the erotic book section in Borders next to The Game and The Mystery Method. I'm about half way through it and I gotta say that the author is dead right about everything he's talked about so far. It should really be in the self help section though and should be required reading for every man. The first section has guidelines for how to live as a real man and the following sections deal with women and world.

I was kind of worried after seeing the picture of the author that it'd be full of some new age sissy spiritual bull crap, but the dude makes several good points - enough for me to recommend it before I've even finished it. I don't know, maybe it just resonates with me because of the particular phase I'm going through in life right now. Has anyone else read this book yet? What's your opinion of it?

I picked up a copy several years ago. It is kind of new agey when you read it, but if you can get past that, David Deida does deliver the concepts we've come to know and love. His stuff is mainly aimed for those in loving relationships and bonded, and what's also cool about the book is that he's really talking about principles in living as your own man be it work or in life, and not just in regards to women, though that's mostly what the book describes.

Deida is a bit too esoteric for the casual reader. He has a good message but you have to pour through all of his " look how new-agey I am" rhetoric in order to get to it.

Crowley said all of this before the turn of the 20th century and he has devoted disciples to this day.

I just clicked through the link I posted and read some of the reviews - most of which are 4 and 5 stars. It looks like he helped a ton of people, but boy can you tell who the feminazi's are! I doubt the 1 star reviewers even read the book - calling it a 'How-To' Guide for Sexual Predators? WTF?! He never comes close to condoning such behavior. Some people are so hopelessly plugged into the matrix it's pathetic.

I just downloaded the PDF... It took a while, but it's easy to find. Not to break the law, but for educational purposes I could send it over if you promise to delete it and buy it after reading a few pages.

Oh, and it has advertisements sprinkled through out the book.

I picked it up a couple years ago and read it. I would give it a cautionary recommendation because of all the fluffy nonsense he espouses. David Deida is part of this ridiculous lineage of men who think that their sexual mastery (i.e.--holding your orgasm for days on end) gives them some sort of religious authority.

If you cut through all his esoteric, sometimes laughable new-age energy crap; he actually lays down a lot of what is preached here. The nice thing about the book is it composed of short, concise chapters that you can pick through at your leisure, and I found some of them to be direct, reasonable, and very helpful pearls to ponder and put into practice. The rest of the book is all about masculine and feminine "energy"; how some women are 'cool' and some are 'hot'...then he gets into this sexual-spiritual rhetoric about how you'll achieve some kind of nirvana by banging women like he does. I dont remember specifics really but i just remember reading it and actually shelving the book because it was getting too ridiculous.

But, if you buy it, pick through some chapters and you'll find some good corroboration with SS and embracing masculinity.

This is an excellent point.

A woman might seek to be a better mother, a better businesswoman, or even a better lover, but never do you see a woman seeking to be a better woman as a WHOLE.

A man who improves himself is usually improving his masculinity and his masculine appeal. Does a woman ever seek to improve her femininity or feminine appeal?

Though the cover seems misleading (I don't know that a good understanding of women and of being a man makes this book the "Ultimate Spiritual Guide for Men"), I decided to buy the book. You're right, some of it seems too new-agey but I feel like I get enough out of it to make it worth it if I just focus on the principles he's trying to explain. Thanks for everyone's feedback.
