I watched the movie the Ugly Truth with actor Gerard Butler and actress Katherine Heigl last night on Stars... which is a romantic comedy made in 09 trailer follows.

Though a comedy I saw alot of truth in this movie I won't give it away but if you have a chance or have watched it what was your opinion?

What I took from the movie is it's the ugly truth in what type of guy a woman really finds attractive they think they want a certain type but they go for another and I mean sexually even though alot of the movie is over the top.

It's really alot of what is discussed here on the forum in how to attract a woman.

I watched it with my girlfriend when it came out. She asked if I believed some of the stuff that was said about men and women and I just laughed it off. Little does she know I have spent hours reading up on attraction and is probably the only reason I have her.

Good movie. Katherine is beautiful

she played the player.. this is feminist bull**** disguised as something else.. see how she used ego baiting at the end to get him back and he fell for it like a damn AFC

It's really alot of what is discussed here on the forum in how to attract a woman.

I´m pretty sure somebody found a forum like this or read one of the DJ books and made a film out of it. Copy-paste, as usual in Hollywood.

OK fair enough your opinions are well thought of and I am not here to tell anyone what movie is better than another.

Katherine in the movie as many women do had this idea floating around in her head of the ideal man and was it really a surprise in who she ended up with to those who watched the movie but maybe it sucked the energy out of your groan because you wanted it another way.

Butler the main actor was being the man. He projected manliness and doesn't give a hoot what the woman thinks of his boldness toward her. His attitude was he knows the truth about women. Butler knows what he's doing will work for he expresses cool confidence of which every good man has not the boring nice AFC and nervous confidence making the woman of your desire wonder if your hiding something behind the niceness in which many are.

It's not normal being to nice women are smart as a whip and smell a rat that's been sittin' in the hot sun awhile and it's smellin' rotten and it's full of social conditioning for a time and her nose is turned upwards. This is usually where an AFC guy will call a woman a b*itch and that's just not the case.

Even though it was a comedy a lot of truth is stirred when we kid around like comedies do for it's a movie and the movie gets away with it because we find it amusing and funny.... it's safe...but something underneath is stirring while watching and I believe most here missed it.

What I took from the movie was even if the woman is conditioned to be a nice proper girl she really deep down wants to be a good girl slut and sex machine for the right man in bed. Key point is for her to be comfortable the conditions for that is she doesn't want that label and that's where the right kind of man comes into play and understands her.

You see even though her idea man in her mind ended up being a doctor and drove a BMW convertible and was a cat person like her... she didn't feel safe to let go with him and she changed directions because Butler gave her emotions a roller coaster ride of animal lust he was exciting her.

Though at first she hated it. She was p*ssed to high heaven at him and his boldness toward her. How dare Butler be so bold telling her his boss he loves when a woman is on top...priceless! From then on it was sexual but was sexual harassment a concern there in the workplace? No of coarse not it's a movie we can relax and enjoy the sexual tension build between the two.

In Katherine's mind sexual harassment wasn't as important than meeting the ideal man who was bringing out her evolutional desires. Hell she was getting wet from Butlers shower of bold sexual unafraid attention toward her.

Butler was actually mind f*cking her and fingering her real good what a naughty boy he was but skillfully he did so without concern before the physical act and we know what happens at the end though we don't see them have sex for after all he turned her on to vibrational panties...dam! Do I need say more?

Deep down in every woman's innards desires a man like Butler's character not because he's a leading actor but because he's safe and allows the women to be free in their own skin.

A point in subducing a good woman is many of us fear you just might p*ss the good woman off right into bed and that to me is pretty dam cool if you can p*ss her off right into bed.

When you can carry the cool confidence with a good woman you are sexually attracted to and make her your good woman slut even though she's not a slut but her social conditions and those fears invade her conscious you know your doing something right when she is comfortable being with you trying out different sex positions without being bashful about it.

Even though the doctor was a good looking chap, clean shaved and successful I didn't see the animal in him like Butler. The doctor was in affect to social conditioned as well as he was spouting AFC moves which she saw was boring in comparison to Butler. Even more amazing she got a good view of the doctor's penis when she was hanging from the tree.... from her reactions she loved everything about him except the one key ingredient....manliness.

I gave the movie 5 stars for great sexual tension between two characters. I actually saw steam coming between her legs and after all this movie was about getting the relationship not so much a plate to screw around with Butler wasn't a player he actually was diggin' her and wanted her and got her a player would fu*k and dump.

The movie "He's Just Not Into You" the only sexual tension I felt in that movie between any of the characters was minor in comparison but I did enjoy seeing Jennifer Aniston's butt in tight jeans when she was getting on the boat to talk to Ben.

Predictable, cliche plot for women but attempted to be marketed towards guys by having the "a-hole" character. I give this one 1.5 stars, and that's probably generous.

If they stopped the movie after ten minutes I probably could have written the script of what will happen next without even having watched it.

true very predictable but the point is what Butler did actually works in real life..i enjoyed watching it all but the end, because that would not have happened in real life.

Some other key points.

Though the doctor was successful rolling in money so was Butlers character. He sure hell wasn't poor and if he was a player he would have faked lied his way into bed. Katherine was getting the real deal she got what she saw he was popular and we know what popular spells out to a woman it's Social Proof for he was getting rave reviews on what he was doing.

Remember Katherine was a sucessful woman she was intelligent as the producer and Butler was under her as her employee the boss. Who knows Butler most likely was rolling in the dough more than she but either way he was successful and had passion in what he was doing a trait a woman finds attractive in a man. Butler's character was doing his life passion the man was full of life in comparsion to the doctor and Butlers replacement.

Plus Butler gave her the gift of missing him. The chump who replaced him was enough to make her want to puke she had enough so she called him out at the end she missed his presents his full of life presents his manliness in comparsion to the one who was replacing him.

Sure no doubt it was a movie and all the laws of the workplace would apply in the real world but the message was clear being a man you have to bring on the courage and be not affraid to be you and not what others believe you to be and that includes women.

The movie didn't change me in being still a cat person because Katherine ended up with Butler and remember the doctor was a cat person Katherine's ideal man.
