Not into the whole religious thing..
I'm sick of dudes on here saying that there's a defined "masculine" role. Your masculine role is what you make of it. You can be a well-dressed businessman, or a burly lumberjack. Both are considered "masculine".
How can you ever say someone is less masculine for the way they dress? (unless the person is a cross dresser). That seems a bit shallow minded to me.. And what is so "masculine" about having a shallow mind?
I probably dress like the typical "emo" AFC type of guy a lot of people on here would bash. But I've played school sports, made honor roll, won in a fight, worked on a car, do trade work, etc.. A lot of "masculine" things there. It's what you make of it.
As for the whole media thing.. Fvck it! Do you really think every girl out there is trying to be a kim kardashian clone? I've met a lot of really cool charactered women. I know there's a ton of stupid AW shallow women out there, but best way to avoid them is to avoid the bars and clubs. Just do your thing. I find that when I'm doing something I love (going to the coffee shop with friends, going to a bookstore, going to a local show, any type of interesting workshop) I meet the coolest women.
Making your own rules in life as well as always following the golden rule (treat others the way you wish to be treated) is the only truth on how to be a masculine man.
