The significance of the "Mix Tape"?

Okay, so for you "Lost" fans out there, a few weeks ago there was an interaction between Sawyer and Kate involving the nature of their relationship. Sawyer says "So, what? Should I make you a mix tape?"

And then a girl I'm interested in gives me one.

I have no idea if she's a Lost fan or not...not something we talk about. So does this gesture have any significance beyond it being a thoughtful gift?

It only means that you are thinking too much.

first LOST is an awesome show. i stopped watching for a season but am back watching again. didn't like the finale much, but the season was great.

second, are you a mature man? if you are 16 getting a mixed tape is different than if you are 30!

assuming you are 25+ and so is she, the mix tape is her way of telling you that she likes you. dont do the afc thing and rush in and ask her out. just start finding reasons for you two to hang out a bit more and eventually she will move in to kiss you. or at the very least give you all the signs that she wants more.

oh, and btw, when sawyer made the mixed tape that was totally AFC. it goes to show the writers are big f*cking AFCs themselves. they've got the 'bad boy' doing sh*t that a real DJ would NEVER do - making a mixed tape for a girl who is only interested because the guy she's primarily interested in is with another woman.

if sawyer was a DJ he'd hook up with other chics on the island and make kate come to him (he'd be the prize!).

whats going to happen now is he's goign to break up with kate and end up doing hurley reverse cowboy in the bushes.

he didn't make Kate a "mix tape", really...wasn't it the tape with Juliette and Ben that Locke gave to Sawyer?

if you are talking mix tape as in a mixed cd... I would assume that's music she wants to have sex to and take my cue!....

seriously.. i know when the 2 times I made mixed cd's for women, it was songs i could picture me making "sweet love" to her to

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.
