i remember some guy who claimed to be a personal trainer tell me that if you want big ripped tricep(where it's not just a big glob of muscle, but you can see that little mountain on your tricep and other cuts) you have to work out your excercises with different grips.

for example, when you do tricep flexors, you want to do it 3 ways, 1. holding it with your palms facing you (as if you were going to curl) 2. the rope one 3. how you would normally hold it, so you're looking at your knuckles.

sorry if that was already in the article, i'm not that interested in isolated excercises atm, and i haven't read it yet. Just trying to get my 2 cents in.

I have a feeling that guy has an attention/validation deficiency.

Alex,

why is that dip too low? I go all the way down, and get a great chest and tri workout without shoulder pain. It's fairly heavy at combined 235.

Is that a precautionary recommendation as it might bother someone, or is it problematic even if your shoulders aren't bothered?

if you feel no discomfort do it.. some people have issues, others won't although it's still not a good habit. but dips are to target the triceps mostly so going lower defeats the purpose.

Ripped triceps = diet
Big triceps = dips & presses

The rest are details, not worth paying attention to (unless you're a professional bodybuilder)

Once I incorporated skullcrushers, my triceps blew up.

Skulls are featured in virtually every tricep mag workout. Visit your local bookstore and check out the bodybuilder-type fitness mags; anyone not doing skulls is depriving himself of wholly effective tricep workout.
You mean Flex Magazine?

CGBP is fine, but it's always pained my wrists. I'm 220 lbs.; it's not an ideal lift for me.
Bigger guys than you can do it. Your grip is probably too small & you lack flexibility. Use a shoulder width grip + do some wrist stretch
