Off course you have to take action.
The visual examples in the video are simplified. And the actions required are different for everything you ask for. Some things you don't have to do much for (parking spots, traffic lights etc.) Others require more commitment and action.
Off course you can't do, have or be anything. So yes, it is a little overrated.
For instance, if I chop my head clean of. I can't let it grow back. I will die. So you can't do anything, but there is A LOT which you can do, have or be. And it definetly works for that.

See! Just thinking positive is not enough.
You're right. But you're also missing the point here.
The universe will put you through the motions necessary to get you to the destination you want as long as you're in alignment/at peace. If I wanted to get to somewhere in Chicago, I wouldn't get myself a map of Detroit, and even if I did have one of Detroit when I was in Chicago I would park my car, walk into a store and buy a map of Chicago.
People who keep working with 'wrong maps' in their mind are stubborn and NOT at peace/in alignment.

Its not always going go your way in life, another point is how you react to different situations. In this case the wrong map. First of all, getting the wrong map is your fault technically cause you attracted it, either through your negative thinking, negative subconsciousness, or the negativity within your party/family/friends. The more negativity rules the minds of your group, the longer and more frustrating the trip will be. But if you react differently, having more faith, having more belief, the giving of thanks in your current situation. Then miracles do happen.
Let me tell you something that happend to me in the summer of 1993 when I was 10 years old, I still remember real clear.
Me, My mom and dad had such a fun time in disney world in orlando and were driving non stop from orlando to richmond. Now we end up in South Carolina, somehow we are lost and driving in circles. After trying to drive around for 40 minutes to an hour in the town, my dad decided stay at a hotel since it was 1 am in the morning and real dark outside. We went to 3-4 hotels and all of them ended being full or the price to stay was extremely high. It was close to being 2 am and my parents were talking about giving up, and driving for 8-10 more straight to richmond, the morale in the car was really low at that moment.
Now I was in the back seat, looking at the floor, closed my eyes and prayed. This is what I said to God, God, you are God, I thank you for who you are, Lord God you know our situation, and God If you don't help..... its ok!! cause in the end it is man's fault and why blame you. Thank you Lord.
After driving for 10-15 minutes somehow my parent saw a really nice four star hotel hidden behind some other buildings. Even though it looked real expensive, my parents stopped there anyway, I went in to check the price. It was a brand new hotel just opened, the premium full sized rooms were available, and since it was new they had special price on those premium rooms with a jacuzzi. We slept really comfortable that day and they had directions at the hotel so we found are way.
All I have to say is it was a miracle, and I still to this day Give God the Glory for what he did for us that day.

o.k this was some really messed up manifesting. there is real validity in the law of attraction.
many years ago i dated this really beautiful girl who was back then...the one. anyways i messed up and lost her, because i passed out from to many beers and this she-beast that had a crush on me for 2 years took advantage of me laying on the ground and she planted a hickey on my neck. trying to explain that to a girl is almost like a girl telling you she kissed another guy cause she was drunk.
11 years had passed and once in a while i thought i wonder where she is today? i know it sounds afc'ish but this chick rocked and i only lost her to something i had no control of. anyways back to my little rant.... i had came home 1 summer and decided to work there just for the summer and i seen a job in the paper that looked good. i got the job and went out to celebrate with my old friends and we talked of old times. then i asked about if anyone ever seen my ex from back in the day around. nobody had seen her.
the next day i started my new job, i was walking to my desk when i seen her handing out new company policy sheets. my ex worked there. wow out of 50,000 occupations in the city what were the odds that the one girl that i was thinking about had been working there.
we finally talked after 11 years about what happened and we just laughed about it. i was always called a cheater from that point and now my name was cleared. today i'm with a greater woman. but how can that be explained

Not able to 'see' the video, but I can listen to it, which is fine. The weird thing is that when I hit play, after about 20 seconds, the glass top on my desk shattered for no known reason. A minor delay, and some minor cuts as well…will have to buy some wood tomorrow.
I listened until I got to the 'put yourself in that feeling place'.
It sheds light on the importance of having passion. Feeling passion for what we want….applying passion to what we do. I think that if we naturally live this way, we will, to some degree – be applying the law of attraction.
Anyways…I do believe in this stuff, because I’ve done it before in my life - having to do with my career, and the specific things it would lead to. Before entering university, I envisioned the way it would all unfold, and told people about it….and those things actually happened, which is weird.
I haven’t done this again, or applied it to anything else in my life, and I guess its because I’ve lost sight of what I really want, and what I envision my self doing.
You have to want something very badly, so much that you feel it, live and breath it. I do believe passion is the key, and that this only works for those things that we feel truly impassioned about. And perhaps it works only for those things that are worth feeling impassioned for.

That's the problem I have with the whole premise; there's no way to test the negative. By definition The Secret always works, whether you got what you wished for or not. It's manifest destiny from a secular perspective.
When you shoot an arrow and paint the target around it, you'll always get a bullseye. That's not to say thinking good thoughts is a bad thing, but Norman Vincent Peale covered this back in the 50's.
Also, do Google searches on the "authorities" that tell the story as the movie progresses - 90% of these guys are either New Age self-help gurus or luminaries of the motivational speaking circuit.

The main reason why I belive this is not the testimonies, or who is teaching it. The reason why I belive this is because it is so similar to think and grow rich and that book has been accredited to many millionaires success.
