The natural beta-alpha debate dies here

Why are guys on this board so obsessed with defining things instead of doing things?

Au contraire ol' friend: The business artist is alpha. He is doing exactly what he wants, which is to accomplish HIS FINANCIAL MISSION, by tending to the needs of others. He's congruent with his financial desire (which supersedes his lazy inclination) shamelessly, relentlessly, and unapologetically. He will break heads to accomplish his financial mission and destroy any obstacles before him. He will tend to the marketplace like no other, as he knows that "strict form" can crack in a hurricane, but "shape shifters" triumph. His primary mission is to WIN, and thus he relegates all his ancillary missions to the less ambitious. He will do whatever is necessary to achieve this aim. He's the alpha. A winner, at all costs.

The starving artist (assuming he wants to financially succeed and be a mogul in his industry) is incongruent with HIS PRIMARY AIM, as he fails to take any actions that actualize this superseding desire, as it may be uncomfortable. And so he remains within his comfort zone, and fools himself by reaffirming that he is doing exactly what he wants to do. But he's not self-actualizing or remaining true to himself, as he had a superseding desire to be something more, which he fails to take action on. He's worse than the beta. He's a fool.

If the definition of alpha = I do whatever the fvck I want to do/I lead everything

If the definition of beta = I do what people tell me to do/I'm a follower or order taker

Then my definitions are more on point in relation to the business artist and the starving artist. Furthermore, again, going based on the definitions of Alpha and Beta above, that would also mean that the most successful people in the country are BETA.....which would explain why BEING BETA is mainstream while being ALPHA is counter-culture.

It's why "being a bad boy" is usually a guy displaying the definition of alpha above, which might turn some chicks on because it goes against the "norm" (counter-culture) but most bad boys are BROKE and unemployed. Most bad boys are broke, have to sleep on a chick's couch, have to steal to put food on the table, go in and out of jail, etc.....you know why? They won't play within the social norms like the BETA guy does, by taking orders.

- The sales rep that gets the deal is the one who kisses the most a.ss and takes orders.

- The guy that gets the promotion is the one who kisses the most a.ss and does what he's told.

Many people with the "alpha mentality" based on the definition above will start their own business because again, they want to "do whatever the fvck they want to do" and not take orders. But this is why MOST businesses fail, because you have idiots with no business acumen, no customer service orientation, and no ability to TAKE ORDERS from anybody who decide to start their own business. This on top of them having just flat out bad management skills, low capitalization, and other lack of business acumen areas.

What am I saying? It pays to be BETA......being ALPHA keeps you broke. The only place being ALPHA works is around women. That's why I say you can't be 100% beta or 100% alpha....in some situations be BETA (like in business/on the job/when dealing with police) and in other situations be ALPHA (like around women).
