when you can hang 2 of these touching each other, by a string, jump up and break them with your fist, you are a for real badass. I can sometimes still do this with my right fist, and I'm 63.
I never was able to break more than one free hanging board with my left fist, while I was in mid-air myself. This simulates having the speed needed to hit a resisting opponent, and the power to disable him with a single punch. This sort of blow can crack your sternum, or crush your face.
