The Hypocrisy Of POF Women

Amongst all the messages on here about POF I decided to test a theory.

I made two profiles, both very similar. With one main difference.

One picture was of this extremely buff shirtless dude who looked like a model that I found on the internet.

The other picture was of me.

Over a course of 2 weeks I sent about 100 emails to 100 different women with both profiles. Alot of these women overlapped.

Out of the 100 emails I sent with my picture I had 14 unread deletes and 83 read deletes and 3 email responses and none of them responded to second email.

I noticed an extreme difference with the other profile picture of the shirtless buff dude with the model face.

EVERY SINGLE GIRL out of the 100 I emailed responded.
I even had girls who said they wouldnt respond to guys with shirtless pictures emailing me back, I also had girls emailing me first and I even had girls wanting to set up dates and upset when I didnt respond after a day.

So this thing about women not being as superficial as us guys is just BULLCRAP beyond belief. I could not believe how differently I was treated, same person, same personality but different picture.

Its so funny, alot of girls on their profiles said they wouldnt email back shirtless guys or guys who had ego or anything and they were looking for a nice guy. Yet everyone wanted the dude in the one pic.

I think that it is very hard on POF unless you are in the top 10% of the looks grade.

Anyways rant done....my experiment is done, just wanted to check it out to see how tough it was out there for an average looking guy on POF vs a very good looking guy.

I have been saying this stuff for YEARS. People on this forum and other people that I met in my life talked about game and how to sarge. They quoted Mystery Method tactics and excerpts from "The Game". I would rolls my eyes like you wouldn't believe.

All the time I was laughing. You can talk game as much as you want, the fact is that women are MORE superficial than men when it comes to physical attraction. The male being the superficial gender only caring about tits and a$$ has been one of the biggest mainstream lies in society media history. EVER.

I have also heard about the shirtless man hypocrisy. I have read and heard one more than one occasion elsewhere that the SAME girls complaining about shirtless pictures are the ones that respond to them. What those girls really mean to say is: "don't send me a shirtless picture if you're not hot". That's about it.

All the women responded to your model profile for the same basic reason. They are a bunch of 5's & 6's who think they deserve and can get men who are 8's, 9's and 10's. They're delusional and have entitlement issues. For those reasons you noticed girls getting upset when you didn't respond right away with your model profile. They are thinking "I get all this attention for men on here, I should get my pick of WHOEVER I WANT. It's all about me! ME! ME! ME!" :crackup:

Guys, save your time. Avoid online dating like the plague, ESPECIALLY sites like POF. The term "sausage-fest" is a GROSS understatement when used to describe POF. It also has the lowest quality women from experience (read: crazies!).

Of course. Looks are everything on a dating site and any woman who tells you looks don't matter are clearly lying. But then I think the pick up community also has a lot to answer for by trying to convince guys that game is everything and they can score hot women despite being out of shape and ugly.

Yeah, the hot chick with an ugly guy phenomenon does exist, but it's so rare and there's more to it than saying or doing the right thing.

But then there's nothing stopping you or anyone here from becoming that buff guy women drool over. If you're willing to put in the work, you'll get to reap the rewards. This is why self improvement will always trump PUA tactics and good game.

Hey Jariel. There are a lot of people in the PU community who hold seminars charging $1000+ to tell you a bunch of crap about getting any woman you want with just attitude and game. People spewing that horsesh1t about "looks don't really matter" are either brainwashed or stand to profit from you believing that lie (i.e. "come pay $1000 for my seminar on how to attract 9's even if you're a 5!").

And yes, once in a while you'll see a girl with a guy and she looks like she is out of his league looks-wise. I have found that many of these "sightings" are unsubstantiated. For example, I ask "Oh yeah? And you know for a fact they're dating and screwing?" The answer is almost invariably, "no, I just saw them walking down the street together"

Here's the deal with game: game can't GET you the girl, but it can help stop your from dropping a deal and it can help you KEEP the girl.

I completely agree. I would rather get rejected by a 8+ in person than a 6- online, but its a numbers game. It's more like fb than a "dating" site

I think I said the exact same thing a few days ago on another thread. Getting rejected by 5's/6's online is lame. You're always taking all the risk by messaging first and getting NOTHING in return. I would rather get rejected by ONE HUNDRED 8's/9's offline than get rejected by ONE of those self-entitled narcissistic 5's/6's online. :rockon:

It's funny...I've joined dating sites in Asia and been flooded with more messages than I knew what to do with, just because I have blonde hair and blue eyes. It was like living in Bizzaro world.

Looks are not everything, but they can stand in for a lot of other things - attitude, money, status. We might as well accept it and try to deal.

If you aren't in that top 10%, you've got a major uphill battle with POF and online dating.

I'm trying to find out how to photoshop a male model's body onto me or at least photoshop bigger arms onto me. Oh, the responses will come up quickly! I had to put myself at age 43 on POF. Hey, I like older women, and I have trouble with those in my age range.

Online dating is meant for women to get their ego's inflated by getting free meals, teasing, flaking, etc.

AFAIC, your game and personality doesn't make you a richer or better looking man. Looks will decide how well you do online. Always.

Jariel, if you see a hot woman with an ugly guy, either:
1. They've been dating for a while and he didn't always look like that. (maybe)
2. He's rich (most likely)
3. She got low self esteem (bullsh*t)

Looks matter. They get your foot in the door. Money can too. Game, personality, and swagger only count AFTER the girl has approved of your looks. None of those things get you the girl. They can only keep her. Anyone who says otherwise is a PUA trying to sell a product or a delusional guy.

The more looks you have online, the more successful you'll be. Women will want you and find ways to get you. Women have the choosing power, and will play hard to get if they think you're unattractive.

My verdict: Photoshop yourself if needed. Looks f**kin' matter most. Look good first, ask questions later.

Nismo is dead on. Looks get doors opened. The bs about personality more important is such a fallacy. The unscientific research done by fellow members prove this with almost certaintity. If you think you are average or below in looks, you best be trying to fix it somehow. Looks matter to these women... Looks matter to me too!! Not quite as shallow as the ladies because I don't want the dime piece!! I want the managable 7.5-8. Women do not mean what they say!!!

My results on POF have been very mediocre as well. I don't get many responses, if I do they're usually from 6/10's. VERY RARELY I have actually gone out with a straight up good looking girl from the site who is a 7+, and that's with a lot of semi-customized messages sent to lots of chicks.

1. In general a women needs to find you hot before your personality, game and anything else matters.

3. Stay away from online dating like the plague as it is there to serve the egos of women.
4. When a girl says dont send a shirtless pic she means dont send me a shirtless pic if your not hot.
5. Never believe what a women says they want.

Men chase, women choose. Women want a man who looks good enough to show off to her friends. Looks get you in, and start the game. Personality works maybe once a year, but for it to work consistently, actually getting you women, you have a better chance of winning the powerball lottery.

It mostly does, and if you aren't in that top 10% of men, you've got a major uphill battle complete with flakes and teases and golddiggers. If you're in that top 10%, love will come to you so easily, and you won't have to run that much game and chasing and worrying. You'll have no problems with the opposite sex. BTW, it pains me to see how many average guys lately in Atlanta have been coming out of the closet because they have lots of women troubles. Also, online, if you gotta lie your ass off to get in the door, then do it.

I agree in general with the premise of this thread. But you guys are placing way too much emphasis on the body lol. Girls care about face like 20 times more than the body. I have a good fight club style body and its a bonus like a big d*ck is, not the prize; the prize is the face guys. That might not be popular to say since its harder to change than anything else.

Yes I have tried online dating before and got absolutly 0% success from it. This is what lead me to do the test that I did. Two profiles that are very similar with my personality, but one pic was me, one pic was a different guy.

It was amazing, I was absolutely ignored with my picture and repeatedly time after time told what an awesome personality and cool person I seemed to in the other profile with the pic that was not mine.

Online dating has turned into a full blown sausage fest. In about 5 years, women will be on there even more getting their egos inflated. It's been getting tougher and tougher to get a lay, now it's tougher to get a girlfriend/ wife, now it's even tougher to get any form of female companionship!

Women f**k who they WANT. Men f**k who they CAN.

No disrespect to the OP or anyone else....but these online dating rant threads are pointless. Nothing groundbreaking to discuss that hasn't already been brought up 1000s of times already.

If online dating isn't working for you, then find out what the women in your area respond to and tweak your profile accordingly. If the bad boy muscle man gets the most responses, then BE THAT GUY!

If you're not willing to adapt to the realities of online dating, then its time to find other avenues to meet women. Quit complaining about things you have absolutely no control over. Some of you guys reek of battered wives syndrome and keep going back to POF and OKC thinking that you'll be treated better this time. It won't happen.

Its ok to accept that online dating doesn't work for you. It didn't for me. At least take comfort that the vast majority of men are in the same boat and that otherwise really cool attractive guys in the real world struggle online as well.
