Yeah I saw this story on GMA today, pretty crazy and sad. Dogs truly are a Mans best friend.

It's a sad story for sure, but surely described the bond a human can have with a dog.

I have two German Shepherds. They always want to be near me when I'm around. They guard my house, and my wife says she feels very secure and safe, especially when I'm away on business. Lastly, they are always in a good mood and happy. It'll be sad times when they pass away.

I've always had dogs.

Always will.

They do nothing but add positivity to your life and help you open to love.

When my Hansel died the Vet would not allow me to hold him while he was put to sleep. He had throat cancer.

That's the biggest regret of my life. That my buddy died without his Daddy to hold him.

I cursed that vet with testicular cancer for it.

Very sorry about your dog Karma. I had another German Shepherd several years ago who suddenly went downhill. He was full of tumors. I made the decision to let him go. I went through this door and saw the vets asst with him. He came around the corner and looked at me like he just knew what was going to happen, and it did. I have his ashes in the study at my house. He was one cool dog. Maybe I'll see him again when it's my time for a dirt nap.

Beautiful 5string, both the story you posted and yours of seeing your dog walk around the corner before he was put to rest.

My dogs have always been my best friends in life, I love them to death. My one is similar to Theo in that story, a spaniel and he is 16 now, so I imagine his time is coming within the next few years at the latest, it is going to be a heartbreaking time and I can't stand to even think about it.

Good luck to the rest of you dog lovers out there, they are truly remarkable creatures and a lot smarter than humans give them credit for.

I have both Hansel and Gretel's ashes kept in beautiful wooden boxes in my apartment.

I'll give everything I own away, but I'll be buried with my dogs' ashes.

No woman has never, nor ever will, come between me and my dogs.

Funny you said that. It's in my will to be buried with mine as well. Dogs rule.

The day they leave you is the price you pay for years of loyalty and love.
