I wouldn't get any woman to dress me.

You will be surprised how ignorant some women are (even the most stylish of all) on how a man should dress a Tuxedo or a Suit or even a Sport Coat...or how jeans should fit and what kind of shoes are better with a particular set of clothes.

The best way to get a sense of style is by looking at Magazines designed for men style. In fact, the best at giving advice on Male style is a stylish male (one that works on or is an expert on this issue). Another option is by watching movies that have some level of style on it (e.g. Ocean's 11 and Ocean's 12 and Entourage, etc.).

Sure, those clothes are EXTREMELY expensive. But you are not looking (and should not be looking) at the brands. What you are doing is looking at the style as it relates to colors, and fits, and how they are worn.

Then and only then learning how to adjust that style with your skin color, your personallity, and your body shape.

Some people can pull some blunt stuff too. I can leave a 5 O'clock shadow in my face or some level of facial hair and pull it off. But, for the most part, I stay clean shaved.


Another thing...a person should dress based on the ocassion.

I have been in Europe...and the men in our Country (America) are VERY POOR in the way they dress.

This whole women vs men thing when it comes to fashion, is kind of pointless.

Women study/research fashion for women. Not fashion for men.

Fine, there is nothing wrong with getting help from women when it comes to fashion. However, they dont know it all. Some of them have good eyes, some do not. Dont generalize.

its true not all women are into fashion. But Im not talking about how good women are at dressing men as far as fashion goes, Im talking about how good women are at dressing you to be attractive to other women so they'll think your sexy. Dressing stylish/fashionable versus dressing sexy to the opposite sex arent exactly the same thing FYI.

And even if you were aiming for being fashionable, theres still more women who know what is fashionable for men than there are men. Men are horrible at this usually. Some are good, most are bad. Id say atleast 75% of men dress like total ****, totally oblivious to the idea of even being fashonable. Alot of guys think its "gay" to pay attention to fashion, plus its something that is usually over their head etc.

Personally, i pick out my own clothes and women never complain. I always get compliments.

Some guys have a good sense for it. You may be one of them. But just know your kind are a minority in the male population.

I guess you havent been reading my posts. Consulting women to dress you isnt about fashion, your consulting them to know what is sexy to them. Women know what is sexy to them better than men do even if they dont know what is stylish for men.

what is stylish(ie stuff in mens fashion mags like GQ) is not the same as what is sexy to women. Stop equating the two.

But if your goal isnt to be sexy, but to just dress nice and stylish, then consulting a GQ magazine might be a good idea. But if its to attract women, consult a woman. 2 different things man.

I guess I did not make this clear in my first post.

I dont think guys all need to have their own individual flair/style in order to pull women. All I'm saying is this: there are certain basic rules of dressing that are easy to follow and will definitely ante up the way you look overrall.

Guys dont need to try too hard and go out of their way to look good. There are just a few simple things they need to know.

If some guys have their own flair/style they want to talk about in this thread, thats fine. But this is also for the guys who are completely clueless and just want to learn.

I think we can come to some sort of an agreement. Guys can come here and look at the advice we give. But they can also ask their fashionable/well dressed girlfriends about it. Its good to have a second opinion. You can sort of decide for yourself what you want.

Another point i emphasized on previously is the importance of dressing for the occasion.

It may be true, that women often find men in jeans and tshirts to be sexy. However, i doubt they will feel this way if you show up to a more formal social event in jeans and tshirt. Its not appropriate! And it shows them how much you dont care. Respect them and they will respect you.

Take pride in your own appearance.

I understood your point.

Lot of women (not all, but a LOT), try to take some of the "sexy" from you to avoid competition with another women.

However, I do see your point and I agree to a degree. You just have to make sure you get a second opinion if you notice you girl is trying to "sabotage" your PUBLIC sexiness.

That has got to be the stupidest thing I have ever heard of. women sabotaging how you dress becuase they dont want competition?

try almost no women do that. Maybe you have a girlfriend that *****es when you "look hot in public", but most girls like their men looking hot. And they like showing their hot BF off. you know, "ohhh, look at how hot my BF is". If a woman dresses you to look hot, trust her, shell do it right. Shes not going to intentionally fvck up the way you look. Thats the dumbest thing Ive ever heard of.

It's true that some girls don't dress well, but go to one that does dress well. My gf gets compliments all the time on stuff she wears. It doesn't hurt she's a super HB but she also has a good eye for stuff like that.

I've had day 2's with other girls taking me clothes shopping. The Kino, the compliments, etc, it normally leads you to go home and try the **** on with them and ultimately you're in bed.

I agree every guy should learn how to find good clothes, but taking an HB is a great idea. Just give it a try if you haven't.

And I guess I didn't mention the other great reason. I've had girls including my girlfriend now buy me clothes they like. In fact my current gf has bought more of those clothes for me than I have.

So you ask short of being a major Don Juan how to get the girl to buy clothes for you?

Easy, just be honest, say "yeah I like how it looks but I'm not totally sure, then throw in an excus like the following "in any event I'm a bit short on cash today, didn't bring my credit card etc."

9 times out of 10 they will buy if for you. You may complain that that's manipulative, but believe me it's worth it.

Another good way is to have a girl pick out colognes for you. Or you can pick up girls like this in a department store, telling them you have a few colognes you like and you'd like to narrow it down on which one to get.
