I'm always hearing about the DJ rules here on this site, but what exactly are the rules? I want to hear what each one of you consider to be a rule.

This thread is to simplify things for the Newbies. Once I get a good list of what you guys consider to be a rule, I'll then pull one rule at a time off the list and discuss it. After we discuss each rule, I'll make a list of the most important ones and put it into the tips section.

I'll start this off with what I consider to be a mandatory rule.

If you want to know if a girl is interested in you, then ASK HER OUT. Anything other than a yes, without a counter-offer means she's not that interested.

Later on, we'll discuss possible exceptions to this rule.

i generally hold stronger morals than most people so i hold a general idealism of what a "DJ" to a higher degree than most people. So i did figure many would argue against this point but i am curious to hear the communities opinion

People here seem to be confusing a "DJ" with a "jerk"...DJ is a stupid term anyway. When it comes down to it, I don't aspire to be a DJ, I aspire to be a MAN. A man isn't out to bend over backwards for anyone (especially a woman), but he treats a woman with some semblance of civility, so long as she gives him the same. If you can give me ONE good reason that cheating on your LTR g/f makes you more of a real man, you'll have earned a pat on the back from me.

maybe so, but i think it was worded badly, it should have been "rules" or "morals" that defines a DJ/Man

sounds like your writing other words... little confused on how one would be boyish and manish at the same time

though you have some good ones handsome, gentle, wounded, and mysterious are not needed to be a man

figuring out yourself is an ever-long process that changes with time.

also, its inevitable to not try to think what a woman is thinking, though as long as you don't obsess over it.

but there are times where i want or need to know what a girl is thinking, completly unrelated to sexual matters.

Have fun as often as possible. Find as many ways as possible to enjoy your life.

When you are happy you are 10X more attractive then when you are the brooding ******* on dance row of the club, or the guy *****ing about his life to a girl.

Everyone has problems, keep them to yourself and maybe your closest friends to vent with. Don't tell problems to girls you are DJing. Nothing turns them off quicker, except for maybe bad body odor!

The Kiss Test must be used as soon as possible.

I just read a thread where the guy was going out with a girl for months. He said he tried to kiss her and she backed away. She told him she wasn't looking for a relationship.

If this rule would've been applied, he would've saved himself a lot of wasted time.

Keeping in mind that there are exceptions to most rules, but that in general they are best followed, here are a few guidelines for DJs.

DON'T SWIM IN A PISSED-IN POOL
When you're in a relationship with someone, that's like the two of you swimming in your own private pool. When one person breaks up with the other, that is like that person pissed in the pool. Usually the person who pissed in the pool gets out right away. The problem with a lot of guys is that they want to keep swimming in that same pool -- get back with their ex -- but the pool has been pissed in.

GET RID OF ANY GIRL WHO CHEATS OR OTHERWISE DISRESPECTS YOU
And when I say "disrespects", I mean some serious disrespect, not just "she didn't call me when she said she would". While people can and do change from time to time, it's also true that past behavior indicates future trends. If she's willing to disrespect you, she isn't worth your time.

KEEP THINGS IN PERSPECTIVE
This kind of goes to "one-itis". Basically, you find a girl, she's real nice, she's pretty, she's fun to be around. Suddenly, your thoughts are wrapped up in her. She's all you think about. Your existance revolves around thoughts of her and making her yours. And maybe you'll even get her. But no one can handle the burden of being your entire life. And when and if she goes away, it will feel as though your life was ripped away. Instead, don't stop hanging out with your friends, and continue or take up new hobbies and interests... sports, music, writing, hiking, whatever. But keep perspective.

DON'T TAKE YOURSELF TOO SERIOUSLY
A sense of humor is key not only in making you a likable person (to both guys and girls), but also in helping you cope with otherwise difficult situations. Keeping a sense of humor about you even when things are rough will go a long way toward helping you keep your sanity. And again, the chicks dig it.

BE POSITIVE
Misery loves company, so if you're going to be miserable you're going to attract miserable people. That's no fun. Maintain a positive attitude, even if you don't feel it. Scientific studies have shown that just the simple act of smiling -- even if you don't FEEL like smiling -- will improve your mood. And if you're in a good mood, people want to be around you, because that puts THEM in a good mood, and everyone's happy. Most women would rather be with a positive, average-looking guy than a miserable, negative "hunk".

BE VERY CAUTIOUS ABOUT "RED-FLAG" GIRLS
I define a "red-flag" girl as someone who falls into any number of categories that poses additional difficulties. Being with these girls isn't a mortal sin, and can actually be quite rewarding, but you have to go into it with your eyes open to what you're getting yourself into. Some examples of "red-flag" girls are: single mothers, girls from work, divorced women, or even a girl from a significantly different culture or religion.

TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF
Work out. Read about a broad variety of subjects. Hang out with friends. Try not to over-indulge habits that are harmful to your health, such as smoking, drug use, or drinking. Just as you wouldn't obsess about any one particular girl, don't allow other areas of your life -- such as your job or partying with friends -- consume you.

TRUST YOURSELF
Deep down, you know what you need to do in order to be successful. If you trust your intuition, you'll usually see when a girl is bad news. You don't NEED a website filled with other guys in the same situation as you... it's helpful, but it isn't NECESSARY. You have the answers you're looking for.

Well it seems that there are as many different rules as there are versions of the bible. Nobody is correct or wrong. Hats off to Mr. Latte!

I too do not like the name DJ because it discraces the original Don Juan, especially when you apply Drixa's rules. Nothing wrong with morals.

It's just that the name is misleading. What is preached on this site is about being this mythical gentleman player. This ultimate nice guy who is a player also...sorry it doesn't exist...and yes I heard the DYD dudes new series of stuff.

This is what happens when egg heads like him go to my side of the tracks to learn the game and then bring it up-town and water it down and then coin it and then like a white dude make millions off it...hats off to him though.

I've been reading his latest shyt and he now appears to be sneaking into the pimp forums and gathering information and ideas and techniques...oh well sorry I got off track.
