Texting should only be used to for short, sweet things. Like setting up meeting in person, or confirming plans.

Otherwise, texting is mostly(there are exceptions) for those that don't have the balls to call.

Texting needs to be short and sweet, not all-day conversations.
Used to get answers quickly, or set up a time and place to meet in person.

Otherwise, texting is mostly (there are exceptions) for those that don't have the balls to call.

Didn't read the entire thread, but this is my take on it. Any girl who is average to above average in looks is going to have a plethora of guys that are interested in her. If I had to guess, like 90% of them will only "game" her through texting, which isn't necessarily bad, but I will explain why calling can sometimes be better.

For one, it pulls you away from the pack. What better way to stand out by having the confidence to call her and have a real conversation (And I mean the term loosely, I know actual real in-life interaction is better, but specifically in terms of texting vs calling). If you call later at night too, you get the added bonus of her probably thinking about you when she goes to bed.

It's just that a lot of guys don't know *how* to talk on the phone. For one, they think longer conversations are better. In fact, it's better to end a conversation early if you reach a high point, rather than dragging it out and ending it after it gets boring. The minute you two actually start to click and have a fun conversation is when you make an excuse to get off the phone. It'll imprint her with a better impression of you, and it'll leave her wanting more.

Are there uses to texting? Definitely. But don't make it your crutch.

First of all thanks for your response. You brought attention to the potential elephant in the room. Do women sometimes use texting just so they can talk to a lot of guys at once? if so why compete for a women? Why let her call the shots like that? Once or twice ive felt like what you just said fertileturtle. However this does not discredit or mean i disagree with what the previous posts said. It all depends on the girl.
I'm not saying dont' do it. I was just using an example of why I didn't want to in one instance. It has it's advantages, but I'm a little old fashioned as far as the phone goes, and I hate talking on the phone long and I especially hate replying to all those damned text messages, but that's just me.

Alot of meaning can be lost as far as voice inflection and such, but some kids have it down to science. I was talking with this 16 y/o chick today about all the new different abbreviations and such that people use and how people spell words. She filled me in on a lot of stuff I didn't know. FAF, didn't know that one for example.

Most of the time, I would rather just say what's what and get it over with.

You always should be trying to find that right angle that puts you apart. So key to beating the competition.
