The Abs Diet written by David Zinczenko (Editor-in-Cheif of Men's Health magazine)

1) Can everyone get a six or eight pack or only those lucky enough to be born with good genes?
2) Has this diet worked for you?
3) How long did it take for you to get rock hard abs on this diet?
4) In order to keep those rock hard abs of your dreams do you have to stick to the abs diet for the rest of your life ?

Thank You

I don't know much about this diet, but...

For the record, people who "naturally have abs" ie. skinny people, don't necessarily have good genes. Fact of the matter is, for the past 1.8 million years, people who have extremely fast metabolisms and very little bodyfat would not have survived.

In answer to question one: I had a 6 pack(although not chiseled) in May/June of this year. Then I upped my calories from roughly 2000 to 3000, so its temporarily hidden :)

I actually bought both books that were released. Very good info inside.

I currently follow the Ab routine (the 3 circuits with one move per part of abs i.e. upper, lower, obliques), and the results are good :)

If you do not have a fast metabolism naturally and are not a teenager then be prepared to spend a large deal of your life trying to get, and then a similar amount of effort staying ripped. I believe Jimmy Wendler said first that but it's very true.

Most guys however can get to the 10% bodyfat range which is lean enough for the abs to show through. But going under that is when the game changes.

The only truly ripped guys you see on the street are either bbers in their later stages of prep, or skinny teenagers who treasure their rippedness because that's all they got. Incidentally I am currently following the 'No Abs' diet with good results. :D

The Abs Diet is totally working, for me. I followed it "to the letter" and went from 21% bodyfat to 14% in 3-4 months. Yes, those abs are starting to show. And, they look good too. I still need to strip away the remaining subcutaneous(under skin) fat, to complete the "shrink wrap" effect. I'm at the last 20lbs to lose. I am very satisfied with the results. Don't think for one minute it was all easy. I look back and realize that by eating clean, doing cardio, and counting all my daily calories.......made all the difference for me.

The Abs Diet has changed my entire outlook, on how I now view food. Food is just like a drug- it can be extremely addicting. When you are addicted to food beyond simple nourishment- that's when you need to seek help. When food becomes an obsession......you need to seriously CHANGE your perspective on FOOD.

We are now a morbidly obese society today, because food manufacturers have made most of us instant-gratification pigs, by tempting us with extremely tasty, convenient and cheap processed foods, that have absolutely ZERO nutritional value. I'm not saying what we eat should not be tasty.....I'm just saying a compromise can be made, by BALANCING our intake of nutritious foods with the occasional junk. However- many people cannot make that compromise, because they are pre-programmed to buy the cheap, convenient junk, that TASTES GREAT going in.......but certainly does not guarantee any degree of health, by the way it comes out.....if it can even come out!

For the past 23 years, my diet has been primarily based entirely on FAT(steak, pork) and CARBS(rice, white bread, pasta). As a result, I have sported an apple-shaped abdomen of rock hard visceral, and doughy, subcutaneous fat. This diet is a recipe for a very short lifespan. My doctor said I need fruits, veggies, and vitamins, or else my body was going to shut down with diabetes, hypertension, and heart disease. It wasn't until I began suffering from congestive heart failure.....I realized I needed to make dramatic changes.

Today, I enjoy salads, steamed vegetables, nuts and fruit. The only drawback is that these high-quality foods can be quite expensive to live on....but WE ARE WORTH IT. I have no problem if a good portion of my disposable income goes to eating clean. It's worth the INVESTMENT. It's true- the JUNK is cheap....and the clean, whole, and natural foods command a slight premium. Don't scrimp on your health. We only have ONE BODY, and ONE CHANCE to fully explore our potential in life. Don't allow something as menial as COST derail your efforts to be healthy, for once in our lives. There is really NO EXCUSE, for that!

The Abs Diet is essentially a lifetime, behavioral change. If you apply it- life becomes GRAND.
