I'm a HUUUUGE 24 fan. Not like I want to bark like baby seal over Jack, but it's a wonderfully done show, with fantastic twists, and it bests MOST movies since it tops 24 hours. If you can't stand the drudgery of sitting in front of a TV for that many months, rent them via NetFlix or Blockbuster, or from a friend, or if you're savy, you can download the entire season, which is a better way to get your doses of '24'.
For those watching...what theories do you have on the schtic this season? What's the REAL terrorist situation that was plotted?
In my opinion, this season is the numero uno, best, because of the reality, it's links to the real situations we face now, and how the cast has developed. Season 4 was good, but the tried and true islamic/iraqi/muslim thing is played out.
-----------------------------
I knew the President had some involvement, though we don't know to what extent. The give-away was Lynn McGill's key card incident. The President placed him in CTU. However, his hard was stolen when his druggy sister needed help, and he got whacked around by the crackhead boyfriend. For the terrorists to place their WHOLE plot on this guy, or this crackhead boyfriend was ludicrous. Obviously the President put Lynn there for a reason. And in earlier episodes, it was said Lynn had the ability to get 50% of the staff fired in a short-time frame, so it seemed he wasn't totally liked in the government. The card was a HUGE clue, b/c that enabled the terrorists to gain access to CTU, thereby setting off the nerve gas, setting up Homeland Security, and trying to bury the evidence and investigation AGAINST the President or any moles.
Moreover, Jack has no allegiance to Homeland, and is only there under CTU orders. He has no back up under CTU, so by instituting Homeland, you've rendered ALL the old guard ineffective, and enabled a timeframe long enough to bury information, finish the activities and plan, and allow the conspirators time to get away.
Therefore the President, and maybe even the VP are in on this. Normally it's only one mole, and CTU has been notorious for moles. However, it would be just like 24 to have dual moles, with plans with opposite each other.
I'm here to find out other thoughts, theories, and opinions. If you've never seen it, GO now, or join. Even if you join midseason, that is ok. There's 8 episodes left, or about 6 weeks, plus 1 2 hour final episode, or maybe 4 weeks and 2 2 hour episode weeks. It depends.
Needless to say, until last season, I wasn't hooked, then i went back and check them out. It also gets me through MOST of the non sports season, THAT is without baseball and football, since I don't gravitate toward basketball, or hockey, and golf is just gearing up.
