I been thinking on this one... no answers yet though. Only recommendations
Well here's three books you should definitely pick up, I plan on it
. "Cooking outside the pizza box" "The Starving Students' Cookbook" "Munchies : Cook what you want, eat what you like. Finally, a cookbook even you will use"
You've got to spend money to save money in this case. Go to a store and grab ready to make meals, not microwave meals, I mean hamburger helper style.
The package gives you the basics in a fancy package with a nice name, and usually some namebrand formula tasty stuff. What you do is read the ingredients list and emulate it. I make my own supper all the time, cook for a whole family
I love going home and being able to throw stuff in the micro after a night of tough love making. Knocks me out and content having a full belly after feeding my ego. Leftovers are THE shiz, ever eaten cold pizza? It's like that.
Pizzas are super cheap, learn to make those. You choose the toppings, that's the key.
Spagghetti is an old time favourite of every girl you can bring home, and making the specialty sauce is the key to healthy cooking.
Sheppards Pie(pate chinoise, yeah chinese meat pastry) is a great meal, and it costs under 20 bucks and feeds more than 10. All you need are potatoes(full o vitamins), corn(yeah corny **** causer you can pick peas or mash the nibblets, I prefer actual ears, they are extremely cheap like 15 cents), some spices(lol tell me those are expensive), and groundbeef(I hope ur not a vegetarian).
Bannana bread. Tell me you know how to make this. Stick some bannanas in a cold place, take em back into the heat, and watch em die. Than mix it up with spices and eggs and away you go. Throw any vegetable in there if you want extra protein or hallucinogen(oops did I say that out loud?) in your system. It's a great snack for wherever you are at? Your can make some new friends with it too
Oh yeah, and it's better than scented candles and air freshener both for your mind body and soul. The smell of buring bananas is super addictive.
You've got millions of ideas that you can use with eggs. Lettuce is the ultimate showboater. Milk is to die for.
Start shopping for bulk food products. Buy 20lbs of ground beef and a few strips of bloodpaper(red stuff that you wrap meat in), if your really keen on the money, buy a hand grinder and do it yourself. I love groundsteak and fish. (The fish has to be totally frozen though, it tastes and smells like crap after it gets warm.)
Do a few searches on the web for cheap cooking if you want more.... in the mean time more ideas
Are you in college or just a student? Look in your town for a catering company. Food is THE main business on this planet, it pulls more than 80% of other business combined, so trust me, your going to find a job fast. Catering is the best, becoming an apprentice chef works too, go to a vocational school for cooking, even a town of 4000 should have one. You can slip a cook $40 bucks sometime and he'll teach you some quick tips to save yourself time
Go find a chick, become her friend, go to her house, and ask her to cook for you. Serious, as soon as you get in the door be nice and ask her to cook for you. Be mean if you want but imo that doesn't get you as much free stuff in life
Ask her questions, be serious about them, make a few corny questions that EVERYBODY should know and she'll understand...
