I have a question for everyone. Is there an exam that a person can take that will complete all your years of high school?

Does he have any advanced placement classes under the belt currently? It's certainly possible but you'd have to check with the school board directly for definitive answers.

Naw. No advanced classes. I have a call into his school. The person that I need to talk to is out until tomorrow. Thank you for your help, I will talk with the school tomorrow.

It probably varies by state, but in Illinois at least, I think he would have to be 18 years old before he took the GED.

They have this rule because the GED test is very easy to pass, and if not for the age requirement, every halfway bright twelve-year-old could pass it and go straight to college. If that happened, whatever high school the kid was skipping would lose out on its Federal funding for that student. Schools get paid by the Feds on a per kid, per day basis. This is the same reason they care so much about attendance in general - it's about the money.

thankx bible belt. that is very true. i figured that the information i got concerning the 'get out of high school' test was probably refering to the GED test. He's only 17, I'm thinking he can tough it out another couple of month.. LOL
He is in an alternative school, so as long as he finishes all of the state required class, he can graduate.. he's trying relly hard to finish my the end of December. He is planing on going to college in January if all goes well.
