At first I thought that was how the movie was going to end as well, at least the first half of it. With Connor dying, I thought they would have made Marcus their leader and would have plastered Connor's face over Marcus' so that the resistance around the world will still have hope. But wow, they really made a twisted ending.

I think I would have liked the "imposer Conner" ending (but not where he kills everyone). It would have been surprising.

The first two endings wouldn't have made any sense in terms of the other movies though. The first ending would basically negate everything since Skynet only came into existence because Conner was alive to send his own dad back and a piece of the robot that was supposed to kill him being found. There wouldn't have been a war. The second ending would have erased the third movie since Conner later and there was no need to send another Terminator back. I mean, I can understand wanting to put in a twist to increase tension about what will happen next, but when stuff becomes overly complicated, it just comes off as stupid. Altered time lines are great, but unless they're going to basically rehash the same movie over and over again just to show the possible way it could have ended, it's best to stick with original story and build around it.

I agree it's a little complicated but its because of the time travel and the robots going back in time.

I found out when I was trying to explain it to my dad.

First movie was what T-900 which was arnold, then the second movie with robert was T-1000, then Loken was T-X then we revert back to the T-800's.

I think it was awesome to see arnold come back at the end though that was pretty cool but what would have been better I think would have been...

Since john has been with arnold for so long and since he DID die by a t-900 it would have looked better if he started to walk backwards slowely freaked out by seeing arnold and saying under his breath "No," Instead of just standing there getting punched...I think it would have given the audience some que as to tie the story togethor but whatever.

I think it would be extremely badass IF Robert reprises his role as T-1000....he's the only one that could do it and SHOULD do it.
