Are you Iranian or indegenious to Iran? Do you know the local customs and laws?
I'm Iranian, but was born in America...this is my first time in Iran.
Iran is nothing like how they depict it on American TV. I was very surprised. The police are friendlier than I have ever seen in the US. There are more little kids running around with video-recording cellphones than I've ever seen in the US. More LCD HDTVs, more laptops, more advanced technology...it's almost like Japan.
As for the laws, guys/girls hold hands and even kiss in public, moreso than I have ever seen in America. It's like they want to rebel, so they do it more. I haven't seen one person get arrested. You can do whatever you want here, there is complete freedom of relationships with women. The only difference is they have to wear a scarf over their hair in public.
It's really superficial how they have these "oppressive regulations," and especially how American media emphasizes these. Because frankly, what I've experienced in the past 2 weeks ...you can do absolutely anything here. I haven't seen anything like it in America or anywhere else...and I have travelled to just about every US state except Hawaii/Alaska. I love the US, don't get me wrong, but this place rocks.
Anyway...I could go on, but I'll probably post pictures later.
