Not really. Most women (except professional gold diggers) couldn't tell the difference between a Rolex and a Timex (let alone a real Rolex and a fake one). Ditto with suits. Most women couldn't tell the difference between Armani and Banana Republic.
you ake a good make a good point. my fav suit at least to women is a suit that i bought for about 200 bucks from banana republic with pinstripes. women love it.

i would have to disagree about watches though beucase you can actually show a girl its a rolex. at least i would agree that it doesn't have to be a real rolex.

what i do see a lot of unfounded tattoo hate threads/comments. completely unnecessary. if you dont like them dont get them. but saying things like "only guys who get tats are losers" when in reality guys who get tats are likelier much more alpha than you. even guys have an ego assauging hamster
Most of the tattoo bashing I see on this forum is directed toward females. Usually guys saying that tattoos on women is unattractive and not feminine.

I'm not fond of tattoos on women either, for that matter. And I don't want one on myself. What some other dude decides to wear or put on his body, I couldn't care less.

and no, theyre not for everyone.
Doing some reading up on history might help you. Body modification (including tattoos) is not traditionally masculine or feminine. Numerous cultures in present and past history had males and females modify their bodies. Guys really need to stop incorrectly painting things as masculine or feminine based on their own cultural biases or personal preferences.

Personally I like tattoos and piercings depending on the person. They work for some people and look good, but may look odd and not so good on other folks. Also, many people who do enjoy modification need to learn moderation. Because while I do think tattoos and piercings might look sexy on a particular girl, if she goes overboard with the size, style, or scale of her body work, then it becomes a turn off.

why are you on my jock? you want some attention? you want to sound smart and like you know stuff by being a contrarian for the sake of it?
Calm the fvk down buddy. Its a discussion forum and I was correcting you for being WRONG. Does it bother you that much that you were incorrect about "traditional" uses of body modification. How about you mature a bit instead of getting so defensive that someone came into a conversation to correct you.

you prove my point because i already said tribal ppl all have some kind of modification but i only mentioned the male side of it. i know women stretch their necks and gauge their lower lips and do all kinds of crap. im not talking about that though.
You said tattoos were traditionally male. THEY ARE NOT. As someone whos very interested in the history of all body mods, I know my stuff dude. Men and women have been getting tattoos forever.

in western culture tattoos are viewed as being traditionally masculine. its not my opinion. its pretty obvious. even as liberal as women are these days and the rampant popularity of suicidegirl types men still get far more tattoos than women.
Do your homework on western society. Seems your mind is stuck on the last couple hundred years of "western" society. Before the last 20 years, there were hardly any men or women with tattoos. Now a slew of men and women have them...so that hardly counts as tats being masculine.

Also, if you travel around enough big cities, youll see plenty of well tatted up women. As many as men actually. The reason you might think women have less tattoos is because women tend to get them in less visible areas. Youll generally see more guys with sleeves, and more women with tats on their torso or legs for example. Again, this view of tattoos being masculine is simply your own cultural bias and personal preference. Its not reality.

I wish guys here would stop trying to paint things as masculine and feminine based on their close minded views of society and history.

seriously, grow the fuk up
Take your own advice. Youre the one whining because someone simply responded to your posts in a calm non-confrontational manner. Youre just upset that someone is saying you are wrong. Why are you so damn defensive over my previous post?

In my opinion tattoos help me grab the attention of a lot of women that I nearly don't have to say anything to open up to them. I have a long sleeve tattoo up to my chest and rear shoulder on my left arm and many women would open up to me about my tattoo. One of my hot TAs in class loved it so much she showed me her tattoo on her you-know-where.

When I was young i was very introverted, nice and I hated tattoos. Now I am a complete opposite from what I was in the past and Im loving it. I would get a tattoo that is far unique or different than what people would get as tattoos. Definitely no words or phrase tattoos because those are common and lame.

At this point you probably have a woman (or multiple women) chasing you around, calling you all the time, wanting to be with you. So let's talk about how to KEEP a woman interested in you once you have her. This is BIG! There is nothing worse than getting dumped by a woman that you really, really like.

Men with racing cars, motorcycles, muscles and tatoos. They all have one thing in common.... all are displays of untamed masculinity.

I personally don't believe in tattoos (it's just not my thing. I just prefer to have a clean image and it suits me very well). But what I do have are killer traps and very good arms, not too big but just right for my frame. The traps make me look fuller and taller (I'm only 5'8") and I get direct/indirect compliments from men/women on my arms. This gives me the nice "approachable" guy with muscles vibe that i put off with women.

Maybe tattoos would add more to that for me but again, I just don't like them on me and it "just isn't me"....I just don't need them. But the bottom line is that I feel each man has to find his own "masculine" attribute, cultivate in a way that looks natural on him (the key is "NATURAL") and let it flourish as part as his persona. It shouldn't be an instant remedy to all of his attraction issues or a psychological "crutch" (to be honest, it can be for some) but it will make it much easier to attract women WHILE CONTINUING TO GROW AND EVOLVE AS A DJ. The key is not to become complacent growing as a person. I know this personally....it can only take you so far for so long. You have to always STRIVE to be the complete package....

Call me old fashioned, I don't like tattoos.

It's too committal for my tastes.

I am with Zeek, preferred by women or not, I am not getting one.

As BB,Danger point out, there is a heck of a lot more you can do to increase SMV if you just want that.

Getting a tattoo or having your septum pierced so that you can attract chicks?

That's fundamentally a chumpy way of looking at it.

Context is key. Some women like tats, some don't, and some don't care.

However, the ones that do like tats are the ones that fvck quickly and often.

I don't have any tattoos personally but friends and enemies who do seem to clean up with a certain type of girl. Not a bad girl or good girl or pretty girl or ugly girl. Just a girl that likes to have sex. There are tougher things to do to up your sexual value. It's less dangerous than a motorcycle!

Let me add something else to the discusson here. I see a lot of talk about luxury cars and such, but here in the midwest (and in the south I know) nothing says masculinity like a pickup truck. Especially if it's big, bad, four wheel drive, and tricked out. I don't see much discussion here about driving a truck, chicks love cool trucks.
Context is key. In Philly and NYC where I do most of my roaming an expensive or even well maintained vintage bicycle is considered hot. Especially among artsy tattooed hipster chicks who I love despite my lack of both tattoos and artistic sensibility.

It's like a beamer in the suburbs or a Ram SRT-10 in a blue collar area.

Dear All,
Well Old Will talked of the Seven ages of Man,if you wish to be marooned in one of them, get a Tattoo....Get A Tatt because Women Like them!...how freakin Feeble is that! Are you guys DJ's or Lap Dogs?....Can even one of you imagine Don Juan or Casanova with ugly adverts of a one time allegiance indelibly inked into their skin,Errol Flynn or Brad Pitt with a big Eagle on his back,or I love Mother on his Arm...absurd even risible...At one time against my wishes I found myself in an Army fighting a War...We were all Shvit Scared, but when we went on R&R we were Gung Ho,full of Braggadacio and B/S we were all Jack the Lads...about half the Guys got Tattoos, ugly garish things...Our shrinking Band of Brothers meet every year, not one of those Guys will expose his Tatt, they moved on in life,in fact their personas had to change to suit their social positions,as many moved up in the World...Several have had Plastic Surgery to remove them, spending thousands for what afterwards looks like a disfiguring Melanoma scar...Why?because there is a perception, rightly or wrongly, amongst the dull boring people who never do very much except concentrate on careers and eventually assume powerful positions in Industry, that Tatts are the sign of lifes dropouts, malcontents and trailer trash...they are not always right...For Me I wont even wear a labelled piece of clothing...We all change, but Tatts don't!

Tattoos are like bumper stickers. You don't see them on high end rides.

If you want to talk, talk to your friends. If you want a girl to like you, listen to her, ask questions, and act like you are on the edge of your seat.

LOL nice way to put it.

I see tattoos on every woman nowadays except for ones that come from old money who were pretty sheltered & insulated from being around anyone who was not upper class, went to Yale, Harvard, Cornell, etc.

I've talked to a few of these girls & casually dated them & they stated I caught their eye bc I was not "thugged out" or all hipster looking. "Slumming" with a middle class guy for casual dating but not a serious LTR was cool with them as long as you could somewhat fit into their little bubble.

Women who dig the "prison rapist" look dig tattoos.

Tats are a form of self harm and preclude you from serious power.

How many serious company CEOS, politicians, or other leaders have tats?

You'll get some low end easy meat with it. I don't respect tats, sign of being lower class trash.

I have no problems with people with tatoos yet I dont se any on myself and most of all I dont see any on any girl which is more than a one night stand.

On men it depends on the guy, a paratrooper with a tatoo of a skull falling from the sky looks cool to me, a skinny guy or a fat guy with a tribal on his shoulder looks quite sad and try hard.

Regarding women, the tramp stamp in the lower back probably would disqualify a girl even for a one night stand, I find such things flashing red flags and sign of unreliabolity, probably because of my conservative backround.

I dont usually judge people and Im sure there is plenty of people with tatoos or piercing which is competent and clever but its not my thing.

I equal such things to a subculture which I dont wanna be part of, just like rasta hair and similar stuff, I like to be around people similar to me.

Not saying they are better, I just find myself more comfortable ans surely I passed that time of my life where I'll ever do anything for women if I dislike it.

I went the mbike path. Like bikes. They re about to make it harder and pricier to register so it was now or never. Going to join a riding group and not commute to cut down the risk. Works in with my photography groups normally ride somewhere scenic. And for once I m not in an ltr so I can setup all my manly hobbies and a chick arrives that's how it is. And I'm close to a university with nice wide service roads deserted on weekends. Perfect to learn to ride.

Haha! I've never heard it, but that's a good way to to put it.

Tattoos were very rebellious and counter-culture. Now, every hipster punk who would cry if you yelled at him has sleeves and it has diminished the value a bit. Still, if you're a muscular, badass dude, tats or no tats you'll be taking girls to pound town. Tats will just make that happen faster with middle and low class girls - and that is not a bad thing, in my opinion.

Absolutely spot-on. Whether a man is a DJ or not, those things will attract girls, then it is up to him to seal the deal.

It doesn't matter how good-looking you are, how romantic you are, how funny you are... or anything else. If she doesn't have something INVESTED in you and the relationship, preferably quite a LOT invested, she'll dump you, without even the slightest hesitation, as soon as someone a little more "interesting" comes along.
