I'm interested in using a tanning bed. I've never used one before and I don't really know how to go about it. Should you do it naked or wear basketball shorts?

Another question is that when I'm done am I going to have the orange fake-looking tan or will it look somewhat legit.

YOu'll have a real natural looking tan in a bed. And I recommend as long as the beds clean go nude and get rid of the tan lines!!!

It will do wonders for your skin...
Had a friend who started hitting the sun bed when he was 16 because of his acne. He is 22 now, but looks like 35...:nono:

What do u mean? So are you saying that it messes up your skin after a while? or what? I might start going with a few friends of mine that also do it, but now I am starting to have 2nd thoughts about it.....

I don't think it is going to hurt "much" if you do it once in a while but in general I would stay away from these "microwaves". Yes, your skin will get older a lot faster.

Be careful with those tan beds. In my opinion they are 'cancer in a box'. Ever seen those pics of over tanned old people? Nasty as hell.

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.

Tanned skin is damaged skin. The UV rays also release endorphins, which can make tanning beds addictive. Extreme tanning very obviously causes cancer and wrinkled, leathery skin.

But women still love it, especially the hotter ones. If you opened a tanning salon in a small town, you would soon meet every hot chick in the town.

Yeah, tan beds can be really bad for the skin.

I've only ever used them to carefully acquire a 'base tan'...which is not so bad. When done in moderation, tan beds can be a good way to condition sensitive skin (so that you don't burn when you're out in the sun for a long time, for example). Sometimes doctors / dermatologists recommend this to people for various reasons.

As for what to wear...I would suggest covering up the privates. Wear speedos or something. Ya don't want to fry your goodies (plus its more sanitary). Skin that has hardly ever been exposed to any sun - or skin that is naturally more sensitive should be covered, or exposed for only half the time, in my opinion.

Because not all skin on the body was created equally. For example, compare the skin on your nipples to the skin on your arms. Ditto for the one eyed monster.
(I secretly hope that I just made everyone touch themselves).

I myself work in a tanning salon, there are a lot of myths out there. If you use tanning in moderation it will not have any effects, short or long term, on your skin. Just make sure before going in you put on a good lotion / moisturizer, ask the person behind the counter to buy some lotion with "bronzers" in it, and dont cheap out and get the most inexpensive lotion there...because it probably will make your skin orange if your paying 3$ for a packet of lotion.

A few hours after tanning make sure you put on some type of moisturizer, and after getting out of the shower as well.(chlorine will dry up your skin) This is the important part, this is the part that will save your skin in 10-20 years...and this also helps you keep the tan longer.

Also, dont go in the cheapest bed they have, they'll throw you in there for 20 minutes and you'll fry your skin. Shell out the extra money and use one of the better beds, ask them to tell you about there products. Research the tanning salons in your area, ask your friends, or even ask strangers about it...because a lot of places are **** and don't change the lamps in the beds and you are basically wasting your money away.

When first starting out go every other day until you get a base tan, when your satisfied with the tan you have, go every 3-4 days, try not to go more then twice a week. (again if you pay for the cheap ****ty beds, your gonna get a cheap ****ty tan that fade's faster....the more you pay, the better the tan, and the less you have to go)

Going tanning can actually be healthy for your skin if used in moderation, your skin takes in vitamins, and your brain will release endorphin's which will actually make you feel better about yourself.

(oh and about being naked......just take your sock and put it over your more private part's, the skin on your penis is very sensitive and it will get dry and irritated with over exposure.)
