Have any of you ever dated a girl who was taller then you? I'm attracted to the tall, long leg, model type of female. From my experience if a girl is taller then you, she feels insecure and she will either end the relationship or refuse to go out with you (or walk hunched over....which looks so unattractive).

I am 6'0 and dated a volleyball player who was 6'2, yet she always acted funny about being taller then me (she wouldn't wear any kind of shoe other then tennis shoes). Is there some sort of rule in the game of dating that the male has to be taller then the female?

Any input or experiences?

a woman feels more feminine when the man is taller than her. it somewhat gives her the psychological assurance that he is capable of taking care of her... it sounds dumb but its true from what i've heard. urgh. yeah i've dated taller girls, its quite an ego squashing date.. your girl always wore tennis shoes because she thought that if she looked any taller than she already was, your ego would be hurt..

jakeyboy has good insight, but what if that man is OKAY with her being taller? I think that in some cases, it's the WOMAN that is not okay with her being taller. Like jakey said, a woman feels more feminine (i.e. little and vulnerable - contrary to what "empowered modern women" are supposed to prefer ) around a taller man, and if you can't provide her with some other measure of security, she will feel large, powerful, and well... not feminine. It's a catch-22 for bytchez coz if they empower themselves they feel ugly, and if they get pretty, they feel disempowered. Basically, they're confused-ass hoez - what can I say.

Whoa this just reminded me of something I haven't thought about in a while. One time a few years ago I was listening to the radio and the station was having one of those "call in for a date" things and after hearing all these idiots calling for this chic I figured what the hell I'll call. I was pretty normal on the phone, instead of like all the other desperate guys that were practically begging for a date (I also have a decent voice.) Anyhow, she picked me out of probably 20 guys who called. I don't know if that means I was that good or if all the other guys were really bad.

One thing she mentioned while on the radio was that she didn't like to date guys shorter than her (she was a 5'11 volleyball player, I'm 5'8), but I didn't care about that.

When we met up for the date she did comment a bit on my height but said that the main reason she doesn't like to date shorter guys is because they are insecure about it, not her. Since I didn't care she was cool.

The date went OK but I wasn't really attracted to her so I just never called her back.

The moral of the story is that most women probably won't care about dating a shorter guy as long as he is secure in himself and is a man. But dude, if you are 6'0, how many taller chics do you meet?

When i go out in the city i actually feel relatively short and average (even though i'm above average in height). Girls also tend to wear 4-6" heels, so they appear taller. However, i do see a lot more females being on the tall side.

I've dated short, medium, and tall girls. I'm a leg guy, so i typically prefer taller girls.

Between a short tough guy wiht balls and a tall skinny chump... who do you think she'll be attracted to? Do you think if he's buffed up, cool and strong she won't feel feminine in his presence, even if she's a 6'2 super model?

No, it's sadly true. We did some studies and polls and stuff in both my Pscycology and Sociology classes at my university. Most of the girls said they "want to be able to look up to someone", kinda symbolic I guess.

I've heard many women remark about the height thing... basically, if you're not at least as tall as her, it will be an issue for most, most women - and it is often a deal-breaker. Other things matter too... if the guy is really attractive, physically fit/buff, good in bed, rich, a great person, etc., those things can offset the lack of preferred height.

I'm 6'2", which is fairly tall, but I've had a couple of women at 6'1" and 6'0" who told me I was tall enough, but wished I were just a little taller. I must admit, although both of those girls were really fine, I would have preferred them to be a little bit shorter as well... it just felt more 'natural' to me to be with a woman in the 5'4" to 5'8" range.

We are all a compromise for someone in some way or another ;-)

I'm six three and I love tall women. The taller the better. I usually go for the 5'11 and up but never ran into anyone taller than me. I wouldnt hesitate to approach a girl 6'5, 6'4..

Lol. For me at least (maybe I have a complex), I've gotta be taller than her. I don't know why exactly, and I don't feel weird around tall chicks in general, but I wouldn't date one
