Taking Girl From Boyfriend

I have this problem now. There was this girl in who I was interested since like September. I found this forum in the middle of October, and I started reading. I got along with her pretty good, and there was definetly something there. At the start of December, the Christmas examinations and stuff began at school, so we were home those days we weren't examinated. Anyway, I didn't get to talk to her very much at that time, so I decided to really materialize the stuff on this page, when I was coming back to school again. But on the first day of school, I got to know that she had gotten a boyfriend at new years eve.
So, that was kind of a setback for me.
I don't know if I'm willing to go for her or not. The fact that they got together at new years eve, could be an indicator of a non-serious (yet) relationship, but I don't know this guy at all, so I don't know if they knew each other before, or anything like that.
If I hadn't found this forum, I would have been in love with her by now, thinking "does she like me?", "should I tell her I'm in love with her?" and so on. But I was like, "I like her, but I'm not gonna allow myself to get any feelings for her, before I date her".
Obviously, I was a little disappointed when she said she had gotten a boyfriend, but I managed to get on with it, and I didn't really care.
So, what should I do? Should I try to steal this girl, or should I move on?
