Has anyone ever done that? I thought maybe it would ease my tension and help me loosen up.

You'll smell like booze. Do a couple shots with her on the date if you like, but drinking to "loosen up" beforehand is a touch on the alcoholic side. I have drank plenty at inappropriate times, so I'm in no position to look down on anyone, but it's still a bad idea.
For a second there I thought you were referring to the suggestion of jerking off before a date to calm you down.
I would do neither.
Just go with the attitude to have fun and make a friend and not worry about impressing her or worry that you will fvck up somehow. Things will work out better if you are calm beforehand and thinking positively.

I say thats a pretty good idea if you're not driving. I like to show up to parties a little tipsy already, helps me mix right into the flow. Hell, during Christmas time at my work (we do a lot of sales) all the employees throw back a couple of shots in the backroom before work. Helps you loosen up and be friendlier/more outgoing. Sales then becomes so much easier. What can I say? I'm a little alcohol dependent? Its a magical substance.
Whatever you do though, please brush your teeth and chew some gum to make sure you're breath doesn't smell of alcohol.

I love alcohol. It totally loosens me up. It makes me a nicer, more funny, more ****y, more open and a more assertive person. Hell, if it was legal i would drink all day. During work AND in the car. Nah, just kidding.
Hard liqur is more powerful then any gum or toothpaste, it will always win. Especially dark stuff like Whiskey. There is ONE exception, and that's vodka. Don't ask me why, but it is a known fact (go look it up on wiki if you don't believe me). That is the ONLY liqur that doesn't make your breath smell like alcohol, unless you drink a whole bottle of course. Try it.

As for dates...never tried taking shots before...during yeah, but not before. How are you going to drive? But I have tried drugs (before a date...and of course at other times too). I wouldn't recommend either. Drinking is cool, but in moderation. If you have to drink to get relaxed for a date, you may want to work on your confidence a bit. You shouldn't rely on a substance like that. I know how it is to be dependent on something, so if you're not careful it can lead to addiction/abuse. Whatever you do, be careful and be safe. So I ended up not taking any shots and the date went pretty well. We had a lot of fun and everything. It's not going to go anywhere cos she's sorta dating this other guy, but as long as I had fun... I think that's all that matters.
