I view him as a business investor turned into professional bullsh!tter. An intelligent bullsh!tter.
How he got there exactly and whether through luck or wealth I don't know. He could well be completely genuine as an investor. Apparently he did well from buying and selling nightclubs.
He is a good talker but in any case I don't find his advice particularly helpful in a concrete sense I find it to be mostly common sense. He has some good advice such as reading a "book a day" though he himself admits it's impractical so he just reads a couple of sections of the book whatever he thinks is the most important and puts it away.
Some of his talks can be quite motivating. Whatever works for you.
