Unbelievable...
I've been working out for one week and I went from 168lbs to 178lbs, I can see my sixpack again and I am just bigger in general. All I've been doing is situps, push ups and pull ups 3 times a day. It is very important to eat a lot btw, because all the eating that I'm doing just gets added on as muscle.

I just don't have the money to go to an actual gym, so I'm basically stuck doing these simple excercises :p
(going to a gym requires a car during this time of year and a €150 membership fee :()

You guys are all very misinformed.

The pictures someone posted of that mans transformation are real, but not in the sense your thinking. If you look in the original picture, you'll notice that the muscle mass is still there. What he did (this is my best guess), is stop weight training for about a month. His muscles started to decrease in size, however, there was still muscle memory. He then started rigourously weight training again while cutting body fat, which gave him his old look back. The people in these transformations enter to win prizes of free supplements, etc. If anyone did that without having prior weight training experience, you can be sure to say it wasn't natural. The maxium ammount your body can gain is about 2lbs a week. That accounts for 3/4 muscle and 1/4 fat, roughly. Anymore is fat. Doing calesthenics will get you in shape, but they do not however reap the size or strength benefits that weight training does.

That's quite interesting...

I did weigh myself a week ago, and I weighed 76 kg. I weighed myself again today at 80.7kg. Maybe I should check out the scale some time, but I believe it's in perfect order...
Might have something to do with the time of day I weighed at as well, I just realised...

Anyway, I don't want to become extremely muscular I just want to be fit and strong. Should I expand the amt. of excercises I am doing right now or will this achieve what I want?

Could be anything from water weight (because of increased sodium intake), carbohydrate overloading, anything.

You should get yourself on a solid training and nutrition program. You'll need a gym though.

Yes, there is no way that guy too get like that in a month has never trained before (like stated....;) I think where he's says he has not been doin serious trianing before, maybe,.. but he probably has done less serious traning for years lol)

Home exercises can be susprising good...try too add some kind of resistance too your training

The best ones/most effective ones imo are..crunches for abs... pull-ups for lats / biceps ... Dips for Pecs / Triceps... and upside pressups for Delts

Looks certainly help, and a man should make the most of what he has by keeping healthy, dressing well, having good hygiene, etc. But overall I think attitude has a bigger affect in success with women, and working on that should be a bigger focus than working out. To make a transformation like that Charlie guy requires a major commitment, and to be perfectly honest you could be doing a lot more fun things over those 12 weeks than just working out like crazy.

Life is about balance, so don't go nuts on any one part of your life to the detriment of others (including women!)

I can sense that you don't really have the fitness part of your life ideally handled.

To get into good shape all you need is to workout three times a week. You should know the mental and physical benefits of working out.

You need to eat alot and healthily. You should know the mental and physical benefits of having a good diet that you stick to.

The benefits are enormous!

You say change your attitude. Guess what? Getting this part of your life handled helps amazingly much with attitude towards women and life in general!

One of the most important aspects of your life is being healthy. If you are dying all the riches you have won't mean ****. Your mental health will deteriorate if you sit on your ass all day, eat bad foods and read a million posts and books about changing your attitude. We don't treasure our health until we become ill... Unfortunately, that's a bit late to start getting healthy.

Okay, I've seen this being said several times already - "you need a good diet". What exactly do you mean by "a good diet"? Does this mean, eating healthy, sufficient vegetables, sufficient proteines, cereals, vitamins, etc. etc.? Or are you talking about a different kind of diet like eating a set amount of every kind of food each day or something along those lines?

I've never had to "control" my diet. My parents have fed me quite well for as far as I know. However, there might be information I'm lacking about the nutritional values of a lot of foods. Does anybody here know of any good ways to learn about stuff like that, if I need it?

goto the nutrition subforum.

basically in order to gain muscle mass at an optimal rate you need like your body weight in grams of protien.

and you need to stack up on carbs and everything so all that delicious protein can goto your muscles.

you might wanna eat some fiber since all that protein will clog your pooper.

and 4 months, its possible if he was already had all that muscle mass to begin with.

but if you are some skinny fool don't think that you can get that big in 4 months. first you gotta put on the muscle mass and weight. if you have a fast metabolism after you get all the msucle you want you can EASILY loose the extra fat in like a month. And then you will be a jacked mofo

oh yeah doing anything that isn't the bulk/cut cycle is silly and wastes time.

if professional body builders do it, so can you.

The chisled cheeks and jaw makes sense. Even guys that do roids are often found attractive because it defines their facial features in this manner but too much for the jaw. The square jaw dispurportional to the face is the trademark signature of a steroid user.

I have the chisled features after working hard and consistantly for a year and half. If you build your muscles while lowering your body fat percentage, you'll have a more chisled face, built up and ripped body (depending your body type). Genetics play somewhat of a role here too.

It's a good feeling when the hottest girls at the gym are constantly checking you out, and pretty much wherever else you go. Don't let it go to your head though :)!

Yes, you should take care of your looks. Yes you should care for your health. However, there's a lot more to being a DJ than just looking good and being buff. You don't have to look like a model to get hot women, you just have to be at least decent looking.

Getting in physical shape isn't nearly as hard as being able to make women feel attraction for you. And muscles alone aren't going to do that. I've said this 100 times already that good looks and confidence are NOT the only two things that are part of being a DJ.

As long as you are at least a "C" in the looks department to the woman you are dealing with, you'll be fine and THAT's when the way you communicate with her will determine your success and looks no longer matter sense you look good ENOUGH. Women aren't searching for the best looking guy they can find. Women are in search of a guy who looks good ENOUGH, but is also able to interact with her in a way that makes her feel attraction for him. Go out and ask every hot woman right now if their boyfriend/husband was the cutest guy they had ever seen when they met him and I guarrantee you they will all say no.

I see way too many guys try way too hard to make themselves look like supermodels so they won't have to actually COMMUNICATE with a woman to gain her interest. This will not work. Looks alone aren't going to get you success with women.

Good points Craig. It sure makes it easier though. They start coming up to you and initiating conversation. It takes a load off and makes it easier knowing they probably already like you (if they approach you).

Being able to communicate with a woman though, that is good and think it really depends on the girl. I've seen guys who couldn't form complete sentences (ever) and get hot girls, but these girls are and usually always the problematic, flakey, ignorant types. They're scared of intelligence.

...even if a woman says she "doesn't like muscly guys" it's because...
Even if a woman says?

Who cares what a woman will say?
All that matters is what they do.

Have you ever seen a woman say "I don't like muscly guys" and then stay true to their word? No. They don't go for the skinny guy, they go for the buff a$$ motherfvcker.

What about lean guys? Well, they have certain qualities in them that attract women.

Now picture this: two guys who have a certain personality women dig, exactly identical. The first is a lean dude. The second should be on the cover of Buffness magazine.

Who do you think the women will pick?

Me, of course. :p

Here's something for you I-Am-Someone:

You need enormous amounts of discipline to be able to eat clean,
especially when you have friends and family egging (pun intended) you
on to eat chips and fries. In our culture, its ok to exercise, but if
you pay the same amount of attention to nutrition, then you must be
downright weird! Screw em. Nutrition is your ticket to a great
physique and superior athletic performance.

You probably think you have an idea of what good foods are. Well you
don't. What mainstream media tells you is healthy, is pretty much
crap. That low carb, low fat stuff is loaded with high fructose corn
syrup and sugar ethanols, and will wreak havoc on your body. I'd like
to set up a few general rules about food:
If the food has a perishable date (expiration date) then it is probably good.
If it has a shelf life of 20 years and is no where near the
refridgerated section, run far away.
Here are some examples of good foods: beef, chicken, turkey,
vegetables (the greener the better), fruits, oatmeal, wheat products,
cheeses, eggs, beans, natural pb, almonds+walnuts. For a more complete
list, look at this:
http://www.t-nation.com/findArticle...article=314kit2
http://www.t-nation.com/findArticle...cle=04-006-diet

Now that you know what good foods are, what about the bad foods?
Anything heavily salted, added flavors, and anything that is manually
(changed by humans) low fat or low carb. If it is a natural food that
was in the good foods category, disregard the above statement. Any
fats that are solid at room temp. are bad. Basically, if it does not
have an expiration date, then it is bad.

Liquids are pretty simple. All you need to do is avoid every drink
except for water and green tea. Ouch. Yes thats right, even milk is
suspicious. Although I will say this: If you are bulking or a teenager
that is not hardcore dieting, go ahead and drink milk, its a good
source of protein and calcium. But generally speaking, its sugar
content is cause for concern. Soda should never be drank unless its a
cheat meal or a situation where you have to drink it. Soda has the
single worst dietary ingredient known to man in it: High fructose corn
syrup. HFCS is a type of sugar that when metabolized, has a
predisposition to metabolize into fat, instead of available energy.
Water should be drank all times of the day. If you are not pissing
multiple times per day, then you are not drinking enough (or you just
might have the largest bladder ever). How do you know when you have
had enough? Well a good indicator is the color of your piss. The more
"clear" it is, the better.

Its not easy to find the right foods. You will have to put forth alot
of effort to find good foods. First, take your ordinary supermarket.
They will probably have the basics like fruit, vegetables, meat, and
nuts. But you should probably check out high end market shops for good
cheeses, peanut butter, leaner meat and other high quality goods. It
may be expensive, so try to implicate your parents in this. Tell them
that you are trying to live a healthy lifestyle, and trying to avoid
the obesity epidemic.

The dude in that pic was in between competition without doubt. I recommend reading 'Muscle' by Sam Fussel. Its cominc genius and is a must read for anyone with any interest in weight training.

Wow, great stuff Jippii!
Thanks for all the advice.
Unfortunatly, neither one of those URL's you have in your post works. You probably pasted them from another thread - vBulletin "shortens" url's because they tend to mess up the display.

From what I read of your post, I think I already eat quite healthily. This is mostly due to the natural supply of foods in the Netherlands, which pretty much matches everything you said except for the meats. Meat is still expensive as hell and has usually been raped by several factories in a row. Also, neither of my parents eat meat and they don't know how to cook it or how to buy it.

As for the drinking, that's a good advice. I'm the second healthiest drinker in this family, but I still tend to drink coke and ice tea (high HFCS kind).

Oh yeah, as for the obesity epidemic... I don't think they're gonna buy that, I'm 6'4" and weigh 178lbs, so they'd probably just be worried I might be anorexic :D

This is an article I saved to a word file a while ago, sorry if the links don't work anymore... I'm sure you can find lists on www.bodybuilding.com or something.

Take care!

that picture is the same person, I experienced some big changes in my appearance as well after losing 70 pounds in a year.

I use to be 5 ft 8" and weight 225 pounds now im 155 - 160

my old drivers license picture looks like a totally different person

all I did was control my eating and stopped eating so much junk foods and sodas and late night snacking, then I did lots of push ups, sit ups, running and drank bottled spring water.

I had to buy new clothing sizes, I use to wear size large to x large, now Im back down to size medium like when I was a senior in high school.

I even lost fat around my neck and jaw line
