Super thin! Help

Hi Guys. I was hoping to get some advice. I've always been thin my whole life. It doesn't matter if I don't do any exercise, sit on my arse and eat junk I still don't get fat. I was considering joining a gym and trying to gain some muscle but I've got a feeling it'll be really hard to gain weight. Does anyone have any idea where I should start? I don't want to become a big buff guy, just some what more defined.

I'm:

19 Years old
120 lbs
5ft 8

Any help is appreciate.

P.S tell me if I've done this wrong. I don't want to get flamed!

Lift some weights and eat. If after a few weeks you still aren't gaining, eat more. If somehow you still aren't gaining weight, eat more still.

Join the gym, do a routine like Stronglifts 5x5 or Ripptoe, something that consists of compounds lift (exercises that use many muscles).

Eat like a beast, some people suggest drinking a gallon of milk a day but you WILL gain quite a bit of fat. Cut down the amount of milk you drink if you want to keep fat gain to a minimum.

Lots of protein and carbs.

You'll need around 2400 cals a day to gain weight, how many cals a day do you eat atm?

How much do you want to weigh?

I'm not entirely sure how much I eat a day. Being small I find it really hard to eat alot. I'm going to estimate just under 2000 calories.

I'd like to weigh about 140 - 150lbs I guess! So I just don't look so thin.
