So two days ago, I went to the gym in my apartment complex and when I got in, I saw an immediate IOI from a HB7, a nice looking Spanish girl. She was working out on the treadmill and I just began lifting.
After a set, she walks by to a machine, and I motion for her to take out her ear buds on her IPod. I notice she has a Minnesota Twins shirt on and I ask her if she was a Twins fan.
Me: Hey, are you a Twins fan or are you just wearing the shirt?
HB7: Actually, it's my boy-ex-boyfriend's shirt (she quickly corrected her mistake). I love it because it's soft.
Me: Well, there goes my idea to talk sports with you.
HB7: Well, actually, I am a huge Spurs fan. My friends and I have named all of our pets after Spurs players and blah blah blah.
Me: Oh ok, that's awesome. I am actually going to be writing about the Spurs for a local newspaper (DHV).
HB7: No way! I am so jealous of you.
Me: What can I say?
I put my IPod back on and I begin working out again and I catch occasional glances from her out of the corner of my eye. I see she is about to leave, but I motion to her to come over to me.
Me: Hey, I'll tell you what. Give me your number, and then I'll call you and maybe you can tell me some questions to ask the players.
HB7: Really? That would be awesome.
Me: I'll just put my number in your phone and give mine a call.
She hands me her phone, and I plug my number in and call my phone. We left it off pretty good and she leaves and I continue to work out.
Now, this happened on Tuesday, so I figure I'll give her a call tomorrow afternoon (Thursday) to try to see if she has any questions for the players. I'll also try to see if she wants to hang out tomorrow night.
Thoughts on the approach and ensuing plan?
