Yes, upper body is key to succeeding with girls, but it is very hard to get that upper body without a corresponding increase in leg, glute and lower back size from squats, deadlifts, and leg presses. At least if muscle size does not come easy to you (if you are the typical skinny adolescent). This is because, as other guys have mentioned, the body grows as a system, and the exercises I mentioned release a lot of testosterone and growth hormones during exercise.

Something you guys have not talked about is the impact of a wide, muscular back. This is extremely visible even with winter clothes on, and gives you a look of power!

Any exercise for that matter will make you look better to women...muscle heads that are arrogant get you nowhere...most muscle body building guys I've met are gay and love to look at other guys in the gym and be looked at when they are flexing their bodies on the workout machines...most chics I know dont like that big muscle dumb **** look.....theyre making up for having a small penis!!!

b_elusive. You are falling prey to a stereotype of lifters. Most of the guys you are talking about are likely on steroids, or are easygainers with superb genetics.

Those that have to work for their gains, and remain drug-free forge strength of character and discipline through lifting.

And it is a myth that doing any old exercise will get the same results. To build muscle quickly you need to do compound exercises such as squats, bench presses, rows, chins, dips and deadlifts. That is how all the bodybuilders developed their mass.

For anyone wishing to enhance their abs, this is not good advice. First of all, visible abs come from maybe 90% diet, 10% exercise. Secondly, sit-ups put stress mainly on the hip flexors. There are much better exercises, such as crunches, leg raises, hanging pikes, etc.

oh that must explain why so many girls have been hittin on me lately, actually I have been coming to this site for a few months
it has helped me alot. I was a complete afc, I am learning everyday, I have always been funny but i needed to add a lil ****y ness into it. like today there are 3 girls in one of my classes
the first day i talked to them and all then the next 2 days I totally
blew them off. and instead of talking to them read a book during
our break well today all 3 of them were flirting with me. which i
was surprised! I have also been working out. so i agree with the upper chest thing

Squats put enormous strain on your nervous system allowing for more muscle growth all over your body.

Don't cheat yourself.
I get way more compliments on my lower body. Chicks check out your a$$ first.

I agree completely. This exerpt is from Rom Willis in his book "Nice Guys and Players."

"Look at the men who get the most women. Typically they have superior builds. They tend to have well devloped torsos. If you have trouble attracting women, take a look in the mirror. If your stomach extends further out than your chest, you won't attract many women. If you have a big chest and flat stomach you will literally have your pick of women. Women are turned on by fit bodies."

So, there you have it from a good source.

BTW, I have been lifting hard for three months. I have not gained much mass (4-5 lbs) but I do look more defined and my chest is slightly bigger. I do seem to be genertating more looks from chicks, or maybe it is just my imagination.

I'm lucky to have a pretty good upper body and have garnered many compliments over the years.

I won't go into my exercise regime, but I can offer a few insights.

First, don't discount the biceps and triceps! For years, the conventional wisdom put butts at the top of the average woman's "check-out" list. Well, I can't tell you how many times women have gone ga-ga for my guns over the years. In fact, I saw a recent survey of women's preferences in male anatomy that had biceps way at the top, with butts more in the middle.

Second, once you do create your "Greek God Bod," go easy on the tight shirts, Arnold. In fact, stay away from them. My best bet is a simple white polo shirt that shows off my shape without making every little muscle pop through the fabric. This plays much better than a skin-tight shirt that is more likely to make you look like a self absorbed posing muscle goon in the eyes of most women. Rule of thumb: if you can just see the shape of your pecs and the sleeve cuffs are a tad snug around the biceps, you've got it.

Leave a little to the imagination. Otherwise, she may not be as inclined to take a peek under the covers.

Yup. I've noticed that also, last summer i was in great shape, cuz i was training really hard and i was also tanning, which gave me a boost in my confidence, and i think girls noticed that i was comfortable with myself so they approached and gave eye contact very often. But this was last summer, now i don't go to the gym for about 3 months and my ego isn't the best, but that's another story.

While I agreed previously it will help you out, I think it could also back fire on you. If you think having a nice body will make girls approach you, YOU ARE WRONG!! Also, It may make some guys rely on their looks too much to attract women, another mistake.

It will make the job easier,,,,I.E...you will have more girls looking at you, glancing at you and maybe making the first signal move..."the smile". That is all it will do, girls will not approach you, if anything they will be more intimidated.

Working out will make you look better, that's for sure, you'll get more looks and that might raise your confidence, but don't rely on it to get you girls, you still gotta put the work in, it's not going to make 'em come over to you.

Spot on. Most guys dont't train their lower body because they are pussies who are afraid of hard work. Yeah you know I'm right you chest and arms boys. Nearly every day I see guys just doing endless benches and curls and invariably they look like crap. Faggs. You will not reach anywhere near your full potential without hard leg training - it helps to stimulate growth mechanisms in the entire body and and will get you into much better condition too. Try squatting over time and see how it makes your ass improve also. Wheelin is right on the money. Chicks love it.

I've always had a very developed lower body and relatively smaller upper body. I can leg-press/squat pretty ridiculous poundages, considering my size. Not everyone has the same problems that you do, bodybuilding wise.

Bottom line -

Working out is good for a variety of reasons -

1) More energy - to sex chicks and attain other goals
2) More testosterone - increased sex drive and alpha-maleness
3) You become more physically attractive to women
4) You "feel" more attractive (whether there are noticeable physical gains or not) making you more confident in general
5) Increased self-esteem - the fact that you are regularly doing something to improve yourself makes you feel better about yourself.

So get to the gym guys!!!
