most likely a lot of guys here are more concerned with looks. Personally i am directly in the middle of the spectrum between strength and appearance. I saw a thread on bodybuilding goals regarding measurements and bodyfat...but what are your current strength stats...and future goals. Post whatever exercises you do regularly.

Current:
Deadlift 300 x 15
Bench Press 5 sets of 5 @ 240
Incline BP 225 x 5
Military Press 5 sets of 5 @ 155
Barbell Curl 150 x1

Goals:
Deadlift 400 x 15
Bench Press Max 400
Incline Max 315
Military Press max 225

current strength stats are OK, nothing special. i am much stronger then the average person but not a veteran bodybuilder.

i believe health comes first then aesthetics, never sacrifice health for looks. i incoorporate a strength week where i use 4-6 reps, and an endurance week where i use 12-20 reps to activate other muscle fibres plus cardio vascular and mental benefits along with my normal 2 week routine which is in the 8-10 rep range for hypertrophy.

i dont have specific strength goals, because i dont require superior strength in my daily life. nobody can see how much you lift when they look at you, if you are doing it for yoursel fine but the real reward is the mass youve gained and thats why i focus on hypertrophy and not strength. strength doesnt benefit you in reality, i value cardio over strength for health reasons.

i agree that health is number 1. i have a strict diet, and i do cardio along with weightlifting. I believe that strength is as important as hypertrophy/size because when youre stronger, you feel stronger. When you feel stronger you have more confidence. and you know what confidence gets you.

Well guys,
I'm 6'1'' 173 pounds.
I currently bench 145 at 6. I want to be at 165 for 6 by thanksgiving. I have been increasing 5 pounds for 6 reps for about 3 weeks now. Think I can get there if i keep up my current workout?? I know you don't know it, try to judge by the progress I have made. BTW i have only gained 3 pounds total.

Im 6'0 or 6'1 185.

dockta could achieve these numbers through years of dedication. i wouldnt doubt it.

D'light-
You are doing exactly what is best. by increasing the weight each workout you are constantly getting stronger. i think you can definately achieve your goals by thanksgiving if you continue to increase the weight each session. good job bro.

Ian-
I do squat, but i alternate squat and deadlift cycles, because doing both reek havoc on my lower back. my last squat cycle i ended with 315 for 10.

Bench pressing twice your weight can be done.

Years ago when I was 120pnds my max bench was 220. Being able to bench almost twice your weight for 8 reps though, yeah, that's impressive no matter what your size.

That dude from the Partridge Family, the red headed guy...he was in Mens Health several years back. In the article on him they stated that he could easily bench OVER twice his weight several times. Don't remember the exact numbers but I remember thinking, "Goddamn!".

Jimbo2k....... Do i really care what you think? Really? And what would i achieve by lying?

lifthard.... asked for some input, and i gave mine. Take it or leave it.

I am 25, and have been training since i was nearly 19... but, i dont need to justify myself to you.

Ian1983... yeah i squat, but like, lifthard, i also alternate my squats with my Dlifts.

Soma... thanks for the support.

Cheers Guys.
