I have always been curious about the effect of testosterone and it's correlation with masturbation. Well, today I have the answer to my own curiosity. I will share with you what I now consider as truth when it comes to masturbation and the effect of testosterone, mainly the lack of it in my body.

Alright, first of all, let me start by saying that masturbation is very bad for you. How I have come to that conclusion, well, let me explain.

My schedule of work is from 3pm to 11pm. Every other day I would jog at night after work for 6 miles. That's the schedule I have chosen because from my experience it is very hard for me to jog in the morning after waking up and then going straight to work. The job I have requires a lot of walking and sometimes can get very stressful so I cannot jog everyday. Again, from my experience that would be just killing myself.

Anyways, aside from jogging I do a lot of other exercises too afterwards and so my regular hour of sleep is around 3am. Now here is the key part. Before I sleep like a lot of guys out there I would assume, I would always masturbate.

Masturbation is something I have done since I was 13. When I found out about this website, I was able to read a few things about the reason why I should stop doing it asap. So, on and off, on and off, I would force myself to stop. Sometimes 1 week, sometimes 2 weeks, and then I'm back to doing it months after months non stop.

As of today, I have stopped masturbating for one full week. Now you might be saying. Eh, he'll be back...And that's where you're wrong, because this time, I'm not even forcing myself at all. It just came naturally, because my belief about masturbation has completely changed. I now completely believe that masturbation is very bad for me.

How I came to that conclusion was very simple. One day I was off from work and I decided to jog in the morning after getting 8 hours of sleep. I told myself I wanted to sleep early today so I will jog right now so I don't have to do it later. Guess what, after 2 miles I was gasping for breath. My mind was in constant battle after 2 miles and by 3 miles my mind gave up and so did my body. That's when I said I will never masturbate ever again!

See, I was never able to feel what it's like to have low testosterone in my body until then, because my normal jogging time was around midnight. That's almost 24 hours from when I have masturbated so my body had almost completely recovered.

This post was not intended to be this long so, all I have to say and I'm pretty sure Pook and a lot of guys who have talked about the effect of testosterone have already said and I will say it again.

Masturbation is bad for you and the list goes on...

-After masturbation you don't care about women. When you are outside and you see beautiful women, you don't care, because you feel like you just had some last night. You think it's a positive thing because women like guys who don't show too much desperation and things like that but at the same time women will not come to you and ask for your phone number. You have to do that, but when you are low in testosterone most likely you won't have the energy to do it and like I said your mind isn't so much hungry for women because you feel like you just had some last night. With that said, your mind is the control so, if your mind says no then your body won't go.

-Low energy. This could have been a given. After masturbation how do you feel? You're body is tired. You want to sleep. And if you already know most of what I'm talking about, most likely you feel guilty for not being able to control yourself.

-10 hours of sleep is not enough and when I wake up I'm still tired. Now 6 or 7 is more than enough.

-It's hard to lose weight. When I stopped masturbating I was always hungry. Something I didn't feel when I was always masturbating. Now I'm always hungry for food and WOMEN!

You want women? You have to start somewhere and sometimes when you want to start you have to stop somewhere. I just made that up but for your own sake, stop masturbating! As for me, 3 miles and I'm done?!? SH!!!!!!!EEEEEET!

I'm just saying...

Good first post EJ22. I believe you're right about that. This has always been a real weakness of mine and I've never been able to stop for long. Unfortunately the human condition is such that it's very hard to learn from another person's epiphany, because those epiphanies are so personal the the epiphanee.

I'm definitely going to store your experience on my front burner as I try to get myself to the point where I can limit masturbation for the long term.

best thing that happened to me this year is I stopped watching porn, and a few months later completely stopped masturbating. The energy levels, the horniness, the sex drive have been insane.

Masturbating raises the levels of your "satisfaction" hormones and therefore will make you less horny, alpha, etc. It just makes you lazy. Of course you didn't want to run!

Now, if you bring yourself almost to peak and then don't, you'll be able to run for 12 miles.

After masturbating, you drop testosterone levels. If you stop, the first couple of days it rises, but after a week or so it drops back down. Sex raises testosterone levels so you don't have to worry about having it too much, in fact, the more the better for testosterone levels.

pfff I actually read that. I am not anti-porn.

I am all for porn.

Porn is the best outlet of modern times. I can't have sex with different chicks every night but porn helps me simulate that. Porn teaches me things and scenarios that I can try with my girl-friends. Sometimes we watch porn together, laugh at it, be stimulated by it.

I don't think I am addicted to porn, because I know addiction has a definition, and it's not up to some random guy on SoSuave that decides I am addicted. I can live without porn but I choose to indulge in it.

It truly makes me happier when after a long day's work, I see Breanna Benson taking it in with black nail polish on her hands and feet.

Haven't mb'd in a few weeks (at least 3). Take an anti estrogen/ l-dopa then ;). Anyway I thought it was estrogen not prolactin relased by masturbation, the estrogen relaxes you after you release. Prolactin deals with gyno properties in men such as b1tch tits. Anyway high levels of prolactin, estrogen, and cortsol levels will hinder you in any aspect of your life anyway.

Makes sense to being less sensitive to dopamine, if you ever notice masturbating for multiple days in a row youll be "numbed" and feel indifferent about pretty much anything and have 0 drive. A low level of dopamine that your brain is actually using seems like a plausible cause for this effect.

I remember reading that one should stop watching porn, but masturbation in moderation is actually good for you. The reason being, porn is equated with the feeling of cumming in your mind so large amounts of dopamine gets released whenever you watch porn.
