Well, in school I pretty much have no friends, and I want to change that, but I'm not sure how. Should making friends be simular to approaching women, where you just approach the person, and do a situational opener, or is there some other way of making friends? I wonder. There has to be some way of making friends other than just letting friends come naturally. The most popular people in school at one time had no friends, but the question is, how did they make so many friends? I wonder about that. Basically, how can I become a more social person, and stop being "the quiet guy with no friends"? Before you suggests clubs or sports, I'm already in band, and do wrestling. I pretty much know everyone on the wrestling team, but I could definitely attempt to make some more friends in band. Maybe I could talk to someone who I'm already cool with in band, and learn more about them.

No.

Don't bother trying... it will never happen.

And before you go off on me... people will agree with me.

Thanks for reminding me why I put you on the ignore list in the first place. This isn't going to be a trollfest like the last topic, give advice or don't. And unlike in the last topic where I actually responded to your useless comments, if you post something off topic this time, I'm just straight putting you on the ignore list.

I actually found that extra cirriculars held me back.

I'm in band, drum captain of the drumline. Our school backs our band alot, so it's not really seen as a nerdy thing, I go to a really small private school.

But anyway,

I slowly started to notice that with band and other things I was involved in, it kind of sheltered me to the rest of my class, especially with band. Most bands have a tendency to only date, hang out and socialize with other kids in the band.

My town was heavily damaged my hurricane katrina, so we didnt have a band program, I ended up getting close to alot more people that i usually wasn't.. Made some really really close friends. I'm actually casually dating the cheer leading captain, yeah fvck social stereo types lol.

But no i'm not saying to quit band, but go out there and meet new people man, before its to late.

Good job on that cheerleader chick... not bad.

He shouldn't quit band... they are the only people he has a chance of making friends with... and it IS too late.

if you go to a typical high school, doing band was your first mistake if you're looking to be really popular with a majority of the school. i'm not saying quit band, just it's a ***** to try and be friends with a lot of the athletic type kids if you're in band

Just wait. People are gonna suggest things, and then he'll tell them about how we're wrong, and nothing will ever change.

Well I'm here to tell you there is such a magic wand. Something that will make you almost completely irresistible to any woman you "point it" at. Something guaranteed to fill your life with love, romance, and excitement.

There's a rule that I've recently decided to live my life by. It's called "just do it." Don't think about it, don't postpone it, just do it. If something bad happens F*ck it. Talk to people, if they don't find you interesting f*ck em, move to the next, follow the rule again. I'm not bothering with any steps or methods, or none of that crap anymore. If you go out there and just pursue things instead of thinking about them, hesitating, postponing, doubting... you will end up a lot better off than where you started. So the next time you're on the train, the bus, in school, or just walkin around outside. Talk to people, don't worry about what to talk about, something will come up, the main thing is to start a convo anyway. That is all.

BBX, Mr_rogers, and superchill ignored. Come back when you actually want to say something relavent. If it weren't for your useless crap, there would only be 5 posts. As for Bud, StoneColdFox, and BxPrince24, thanks for the advice, I appreciate it.

I'm not really looking to be popular, just social. And most of the people in band actually are social, and atheletic types of people. Point is, a lot of people in band are social, and do do something atheletic.

So basically, I should just go around school talking to a lot of random people?

Yep, why not? And don't pass on people who may not seem cool to you or to someone else. Pass on people if they can't keep a good convo with your or if they give you sh*t. In the end, you'll end up with a lot more GOOD friends and you'll be well respected.

When I was in high school, graduated last year, I spoke to everybody except for girls which was my problem. Yes, there were a few i'd talk to but it really didn't go further than small talk. But I had a friend in ever social crowd, whether they were the popoular people, average, goth/punk, nerds, etc... I was friends with them all, which is why I have a lot of people who'd put their lives in the way to save mines. Not everyone you meet is gonna be great, but take what you get, improve on it, then try to meet more people in other places.

Just do your thing man and enjoy highschool.

I actually am a popular kid thats in band, its rare, but this is mainly cause my schools so blessed small, so the senior class is pretty tight knit, plus all people arent shallow, alot of people WILL actually look at your personality and not just what you're into.. plus college bands ='s lots of hot guardies and dance team chicks haha.

just do your thing man, and enjoy it.

People should want to meet you, show them why.
