Starting to lose some motivation

It's getting at me that I am 24, and some of my classmates are 17.

Most people my age are already finished with university and they can make tons of money.

I feel like **** because I haven't stuck to a single thing yet. I could have had my bachelor's or my masters by now if I really had focussed more instead of smoking weed and wasting time in school not believing in myself.

I am not at least hitting the gym almost every day. I CAN say that I have passed every single test yet this year. However there's a long hard road ahead of me if I want to finish school. I am starting to lose some hope... I mean I know I can consider myself better than say a barman, but I really want a vacation from all this striving striving striving and not having anything to show for it.

I guess once I get my bachelors I can just move to a foreign country and chill the f*ck out. Unless I actually do that though it will be straight downhill from here financially.

I've got exams in 8 days so I will just study for those, I am sure they will boost my ego a bit.

For example if a girl is more accomplished than I am - the conversation is over already. I just feel inadequate simply because some stupid b*tches have made it further than me.

What hurts most is that my grandmother and my father are both dead (which wasn't so a year ago), and they are the only 2 people that really believed in me no matter what.

I don't wanna feel sorry for myself but there's nobody who I can really turn to nowadays...

Comparing yourself to others is the best way to fail in life. There will always be people ahead of you, on the same token, there will always be people behind you. Many entrepreneurs did not go to college at all, and some went to college after their 20's just because they felt they needed to be educated on a specific subject to advance their business. Does that make them any less than a 17 year old?
Everyone has a different path in life.

This is absolutely correct. Think of it like golf, except instead of playing against others, you're playing against your own potential.

I didn't find my right path until I was in my late twenties. I had tried a few other things that didn't pan out, even though I thought they would. Even now, I know people who are in their 50s and even their 60s graduating college so they can begin new careers. Some are late starters and sometimes the economy can end certain lines of work.

At 24 you're still very young. While it's true you have hard work ahead of you, remember that all those other people younger than you had to put their work in too. If you want something you have to work for it.

Know the feeling. I made some bad decisions and I'm going to university the year I should have finished. I'm just using the "lost years" to motivate me to do better now than I would have done had I gone to university when I should have done. I'm fed up of ****ty jobs and although this isn't last chance saloon to make something of myself I'm treating it like it is.

You're worth more than your position in life now suggests and you know that. You just need to fulfill that potential. Use how crappy you feel to fuel that.

Yeah this is a weird one I can relate to...as if professional/academic/financial accomplishment in life has anything to do with pickup. I know full well that women can still be seduced on my game/looks alone but I still prefer to have the status edge.
Too bad it doesn't work in reverse. I was in a restaurant the other day and I was thinking about the hot waitresses that were working there. They're just frigging waitresses! Yet because they are hot it doesn't matter what their job is, they're still high sexual market value. In fact, being a waitress probably even drives up their smv because they probably get hit on constantly!
