Well, I'm back. The summer was uneventful because of how busy I was at certain points, but I certainly had fun. Little time for girls though.
So anyway, school starts. I'm a senior, but younger than most by about a year. There's a new girl in my advisory (pretty much homeroom) that is a freshman; she's not particularly attractive, but very smart and clever, and you'll see why later. Since I've dealt with a lot of stupid b*tches before, so her brains was a big plus. She's a 7, maybe an 8, but extremely intelligent.
Anyway, she somehow has her locker right next to mine (fate or something?). I decided, why not? So, for the first few days of school, I did some basic introductions, nothing serious, pretty light, etc. I tried my best to not seem preoccupied with her (one thing I did pretty stupidly in earlier years, following girls around like a loser, etc), and it seems it worked; she's pretty much following ME around instead. Excellent. What I saw to be the best of it, at this point, was that I hadn’t done much to impress her outside of casual conversation (aka, I didn’t have to use my talents/abilities, just everyday contact did it). I’ve found that most infatuations are extremely short if they’re built on what someone CAN do, not who they ARE.
Here's when shiznyte hits the fan. We’ve been at school for a little more than three weeks, and last Friday (just before Labor Day weekend), I ask what she’s going to do over the weekend. I wasn’t looking to ask her out or anything, considering we hadn’t started showing interest for any more than a week and a half. Anyway, she’s a bit peppier than usual, and says its her anniversary.
When a teenage girl mentions anniversary, it can only mean one thing.
“With my b/f”, she says, a bit withdrawn. I suppose she noticed what this would entail.
“Oh, really? Congratulations, how long?” I say as casually as possible, even though I’m moderately ticked off at this new development.
“6 months.”
“Who is it?” I say casually again, even though the succinctness of the statement makes it a bit threatening.
“Oh, no one in this school, if he was, you would kill him.” See what I meant about clever? See, I can tell there’s interest, but the b/f thing is a bit iffy. My plan was to keep laying the game on, just not as strongly as before, and see how things turn out.
Thoughts? Unfortunately, even if something did develop, I am so ultra-busy with AP classes and other commitments that it would likely not be too fulfilling, but since when has that stopped anyway.
A few problems (not really). There’s the b/f, for one. Secondly, there are these two chumps who are going after her, and that I know pretty well, but who are absolutely AFC with girls. One of them is a pervert and doesn’t care what his approach is unless he grabs something, and the other has both homosexual vibes, and doesn’t quite know what he’s doing.
Should be an eventful year, but who knows.
