There is a lot of good advice on this thread.

When you are just starting out and broke, you need a secondary source of income besides the business. Get a girlfriend with a good job. The most important advice I could ever give is to tell you to take your first profits and reinvest them back into the business. Typically, that involves buying equipment. You and your personal bills are parasites to your business income. The early revenue is very important and must be reinvested back into the business.

I have a friend, well it's not my friend it's my fiancees friend but mine nevertheless, she worked for a startup about 12-14 years ago. she had JuST got married to this guy (still married). they were having trouble paying her. she wanted to stay, she believe in what they were doing, husband wanted to get a stable job.s he went and got a job at an art gallery and has worked there ever since.

that company? craigslist. needless to say, she made a mistake and let's her no risk taking husband hear it at every opproutnity.

startups are called startups for a reason. they aren't stable yet. Everyone wants to be rich, everyone wants to dream build but no one wants to sacrifice or anything or get pissy the first time the check isn't htere at 12 on noon friday.
