So tonight I am public speaking at an event where my ex and her parents will be. Basicly we broke up 6 weeks ago (after year+ of dating) I obvs still have feelings for her still. I want to look as alpha as possible I am currently in N/C with her for 22 days. She is currently dating another guy.
The most important thing is that i look like im doin well and I look alpha...any suggestion on how to act or tips etc etc

yes you are right, i just need to tips or what not how to act to atleast make myself FEEL GOOD and look like the man. this is more for myself then to impress her. I need to feel good after this...how do i act in the manner with saying hi to her parents b/c i was close to them and do i just ignore her?

Sorry dude - we've all been there, but you're making a bigger deal of it than you need to. It's not like you're car-pooling there with her and her parents. Also, why are you trying to put on an Alpha-dog show for an ex? If it's for your own ego so you'll feel some kind of way about appearing dominant around her, there's no point in it, especially if she's already dating/banging someone else.

Just go there, make your speech, and if you run into her and she says "hi" be cordial. Treat her like a work associate that you barely see in the office - acknowledge, say "hi" back, random small talk if necessary then move on to talking to someone else that's there. No one said you have to hang around her or her fam the whole night, you don't owe them that.

I would give you the standard advice of picturing the crowd naked to help you relax...then again it would wind up making you picture your ex and her new man sitting in the crowd naked while you spoke and that wouldn't be too good for business.

Perhaps before you start speaking you can tell the crowd as a joke that since public speaking makes people nervous they can picture YOU naked while you say your speech putting them all at ease.

Or at least think of those two scenarios and laugh to yourself about it and then knock em dead with your speech!

Thank you sir harry the great...you are right...I'm just going to be honest I have Narssistic Personality Disorder...so its not even that I want her back I just her to want me to make me feel better b/c shes a crazy BPD *****...The last contact I had with her 21 or 22 days ago was her texting me on christmas You should be with me, and then texted me like 4 or 5 more times called my phone 3 times, then i said **** it and called her back...first thing she said is dont you miss having sex with me and all this crap which I laughed off and didnt answer...then I say you obviously miss me b/c your doing this which she admitted to, then tell me but im dating someone else and I love you more but I just started dating him....just ****ed up ****. so my mind has been goin nutz...sry guys I needed to vent a little. The truth is I need to gear my mind to deliver my msg...when I see her and her parent be nice say hi thats it.

haha...so pretty much go do my thing, I cant just ignore her parents so Ill prob say hi small talk when i see them and her I will ignore if it comes to me saying hi thats it, just be civil...walk away goto to friends...ill prob have alot of people wanting to speak to me anyways after i speak so it shouldnt be a problem....

Good luck OP!! I am required to sieak publicly sometimes and I love it.
Be relaxed, confident and look around the room as you speak and look at people directly in the eye as though you're speaking only to them.
Think of it as conversation but with a group of people. Own the moment, hold your chin up and stick your chest out.
You're performing for these people, knock their fvcking socks off with a slow, conversational and laid back speech.
I prefer to speak with only a few key words on paper and then just extrapolate from there.
As others have said, if you find yourself near the ex and her parents, just be the consummate professional. Say hello and move on.

so I spoke. My friends said I did amazin and considering the circumstances I killed it! Well after people where coming up to me saying good job...She was given an award for something, so people were speaking with her as well. she walked by I was in convo with someone. her parents walked by said hello and said we hear you are doing well (idk how they would even know that unless my ex is secertly stalkin me) and telling me how amazin I did and spoke about a couple other things...she turns around walks over to me and goes "your not going to wish me conragulations" so i say "Congrats" then she says "can I get a hug a Please" she leans into hug me i give her the one arm hug turn around and continue my convo with other people....

well done, dont think you could have done much better with the exception of having a really hot group of women salivating over you at the same time while she was walking past.

Thank you! I am very proud of my self! I took all of your advice into account. I have created alot of "soical proof" in that group in the past... so when i initially walked in to the room alot of hand shakes high fives hugs and kisses from girls, before i even spoke. which she saw and was looking at me...during my speach she was in close site I made eye contact with everyone I could (pretty big room) except her...even her faimly! (Who adore me). The only issue i have is a friend of mine who ****ing kinda sick in the head made some comments that werent even related to me directly to her just was a plain **** to her, which you know what it doesnt even matter. I killed it im happy!
