Spaz got banned?

Say what you want about Spaz, but the man had gems of insight, particularly one that went something like, "A powerful man whom already possesses leadership skills could not foreseeably lack leadership in his interpersonal relations. If you look deeper, you'll see you had already dismissed them ..." And he was square on the money right there.

Just as @Danger is a friend of mine, so is @Spaz. Hence, why I never got involved in their exchanges, nor needed to.

I look forward to Spaz's return.

What cracks me up is a few examples of "I'm all that!" who judge members here based on their numbers count, either in posting habits or sexual conquests. Some of us have situations that we are in that don't allow us to smash dozens azzez per year, or make machismo-oriented bs grind that we can post like wearing toxic masculinity proudly on our sleeves. Some of us have put what's left of our family first and if someone wants to shame us, tuff spit. Get over it already. I'm sure they know who they are.

Like I often say, pretty much the only thing that gets you banned around here is repeated, and I do mean REPEATED personal insults to fellow members.

@logicallefty essentially said it all. We try very hard to keep it from getting to that.

It baffles me as to why people have to personally attack. People often type on their keyboards stuff they would be very unlikely to say in person. No one gets banned for having a bad day or two. But sustained insulting WILL get a member banned.

Usually an established poster will first get a temp ban in the hopes that he will turn it around. I have personally seen one member who was temp banned for continually insulting and when he came back, he did a complete 180 and although he was a tough customer (a bit abrasive), he no longer personally attacked anyone for the next couple of years. At that time he decided to leave here on good terms as he felt he outgrew the place. I never thought he would turn it around the way he did, and it was great to see this.

For those who asked, Spaz got 30 days. We hope he will come back, and the door is wide open. I consider him a valuable member.

What? He got banned?! I wouldn't have expected that. I found him to be respectful even though we strongly disagreed. But yeah, another one mad from virtual thumbs up I guess. Good opinions, poor character.

You guys may think the mod team bans people for fun, but we don't. We put a lot of time and effort into avoiding it, and have a lot of discussion in the mod sub forum before pulling the trigger

Whoever has that opinion hasn't been on any other forum or thinks mods aren't necessary at all. If anything you might be banning too few.
