Hey, I'm up to state finals in a world wide singing competition, and I'm only allowed 1 song at this stage, and I'm looking to basically cream the competition somehow..

The song I've chosen thus far is "The Prayer" by Anthony Callea (his version is better for a solo performer), but I've been told my "Unchained Melody" sends shivers down peoples spines as well..

So yeah, basically I'm just after more song choices, trying to find out what stuff would have the same effect, since both those songs are quite overdone at this stage in the competition, and I'd like to do something different, but still have people creaming their pants over it.

I'm up for any genre, besides heavy metal or techno or screamo.. since that stuff ain't gonna get me through the next round..

Desperado - The Eagles

Epic song. I really envy you singing in a world competition.

Cheers for the input fellas, I'm checkin' out some of these songs right now, I already know Desperado, never thought to try it though, I'll have to give it a shot somewhere and see how the crowd reacts..

Let It Be is a good song maybe a little too repetitive though..

Men frequently err by talking too much. They often monopolize conversations, droning on and on about topics that bore women to tears. They think they're impressing the women when, in reality, they're depressing the women.

Hmm, can't help you really as the only stuff that makes me feel like that is instrumental music, or female-led metal.

Could try Amazing Grace?

Dream On is a great song.. so are most of these choices, Sinatra ain't my style but it might actually go down well, I'm assuming the judges will be older people so I need to find something they are going to love as well..

American Pie goes for too long though..

Amazing Grace is religious and I'll lose points for that (not sure why, but some dude last year lost points for preaching apparently, but he was probably just talking on the mic, I don't know if it was 'cuz of his song or not)..

Careless Whisper is awesome too, it's by George Michaels by the way.. and Bed Of Roses I kinda refuse to do since my friend does it every time we go out to karaoke and he's kinda killed the song for me. ._.

Do not be too easy. If you are too easy to get, she will not want you. If you are too easy to keep, she will lose interest in you. If you are too easy to control, she will not respect you.

The song is titled Schwarze Sonne.

The band who sings it is known as E Nomine.

They sound a lot like Rammstein in this song but overall their sound is different as they are a mixture of several different styles. I think they merge opera, techno and industrial sound together whereas Rammstein is just industrial music.

Edit: King Turi perform either The Last Song by Elton John or just about anything by Seal when he was at the top of his game such as Kiss from a Rose or Don't Cry and the competition is yours.

Alternatively to those you could try a more muted yet poetic and artistic approach such as performing the song Stay by Poets of the Fall or Still Day Beneath the Sun by Opeth.

3 Libras by A Perfect Circle is also another good choice.

I would've suggested The Mummers Dance or Time To Say Goodbye (opera song) but I think those sound best when performed by a woman and I'm sure most people would agree.

Edit #2: Another Day and Wait for Sleep both by the band Dream Theater are also good choices.

Edit #3: Now if you feel you've got true magic in those vocal chords and want the whole world to know about it disregard all the other recommendations and sing Human Nature by Michael Jackson off the Thriller album.

Never try to read a woman's mind. It is a scary place. Ignore her confusing signals and mixed messages. Assume she is interested in you and act accordingly.
