I need a pair of shoes for just going out on the town. Something
that you would wear with jeans but is not a sneaker and not something you would wear with a suit either..

I am terrible at finding shoes because I think they all look terrible for one reason or another but I'm tired of going out in sneaks...

I like Docmartens (Dr. Martens.) They come in a range of styles including shoes and boots. With jeans, I wear the standard shoes which are black with yellow stitching. I find them really comfortable. Not overly expensive and you get excellent wear out of them.

I have really nice brown loafers and I get complimented on them alot. Go well with jeans or chinos.

What's wrong with a dress shoe and jeans? I've noticed dressing casually (t-shirt, jeans etc) with a nice Kenneth Cole or other fancier dress shoe brings much more attention...if that's what you're going for.

There are a few brands I like with jeans when I wear nicer/dressy button up or polo's rather than my standard t-shirt faire ...

Lugz & Skechers are good "urban" shoes, and as the previous dude said, Doc Martens, although those seem to be played out around here (LA).

If you're wearing jeans, I would totally stay away from loafers and topsiders (but that is just me, wear what suits you and don't apologize for it!)...

I have walmart (yes...of all places) shoes. Kinda looks like a hiking show by colour (so they are brown), but aren't technically hiking shoes. Good all purpose shoe, lots of wicked tread on them, matches the jeans well. Living for a year now ( I eat shoes)

What catches YOUR eye? I personally wear boots in the winter and prefer loafers or boat shoes in the warmer months. I'm a fan of the "Ivy League" look, though, and it suits me well. Look around and find something that suits your style.
