I just dont understand how some people think they lives are so interesting that they constantly update their "status" on their Facebook accounts. For example: "Ashley is cleaning her bathroom" or "Bob is tired from an exhausting day at work" Who gives a PHUCK. People don't care. Your life is not that interesting. Thank you for reading my rant.

The reason networking sites are so popular is because it feeds the ego. Think of it, email is a perfectly good way to stay in touch with friends or whatever...

Yet networking sites allow you to create a page of your own that screams "look at me! I'm so special!" or "look at all the friends I have, I'm so popular!"

It's like tv sitcoms. Character A comes over and says "I have this dating problem or that dating problem. Can you believe he or she said this to me?" and Character A's friends sit around and discuss it as if it's soooo important.

Life isn't really like that. People would like to believe that their life is the center of attention but it isn't. The truth is people only give a rats azz about your problems if they relate to themselves in some way.

Facebook is just another way of saying "look at me, I'm important. Even the least little bit of meaningless crap I do I want EVERYONE to know about".

If you want to talk, talk to your friends. If you want a girl to like you, listen to her, ask questions, and act like you are on the edge of your seat.

It's fun in the beginning until it turns into an obsession, I mean I dont have one and detest all those type of bvll**** sites (They are a big ass time waster hell they are worse then video games) but come on people that have them check that damn thing maybe once every damn hour.

Hell I see it all the time, they have to check it for this or for that then stay on for 2 hours just to check what everyone is doing then the cycle repeats....its sad.

^^^ I wouldn't say it's a complete time waster. Many a guy has gotten laid from girls he met on a social networking site. They have their use and can be a fun way just to keep in touch with people you don't normally talk to on any regular basis and see how their lives are going. I put up music on mine, some of my photography and other interests. Nothing wrong with that. Sometimes I'll mess with the status. I did today because I was fuming that I lost my favorite watch today at the airport while rushing through security. Sometimes rather than tell all your friends individually about about something that got under your skin, you can tell them all at once by posting a status. Yeah, but I do think people go overboard with "Jane is washing the dishes right now" type crap. Who really cares. It's just attention-wh0ring at its worse. And from what I understand, that site twitter.com is nothing but a social network site based on status updates and that's it...yeesh.

Do any of you get drunk and go hoggin'?

I never trust my taste in women when I'm drunk at the bar. If I get a girl's number and have an interest in seeing her again, I always get her Facebook before committing to anything. I can't be taking any skeezas out on dates.

At least your being social with sites like facebook, it's much harder to do so with video games.

Create self-fulfilling prophecies. Always assume the positive. Assume she likes you. Assume she wants to talk to you. Assume she wants to go out with you. When you think positive, positive things happen.

What amazes me is that you can comment the status of people, it is no surprise that the popular women I have on facebook get like 10 comments for every status they make. Like recently this girl said something like "Is going out for lunch." Then I looked at the comments and 8 of them were from guys saying AFC stuff like "You should definitely go out to lunch with me sometime :)" among other things.

I must admit though that when I'm bored I find things like this pretty interesting, it really tells me a lot about the woman as well as the guys commenting her.

I agree. It's cool to change your comment if it's something funny. There are times people will change their comment to something that has me laughing my ass off, but that's usually not the case. Most people just do it as a way of looking alive and active. Then you have the real attention wh0res that have to change their status for every damn minute detail of their life. I have a couple "popular" girls on my facebook too, the types with 500 "friends" where all they have to do is type, "bada boom bada bing!" and they'll get all these responses from people.

i agree totally, since fb females alter ego has blown out the roof..in my opinion..

You essentially upped your VALUE in her eyes by showing her that, if she wants you, she has to at times do things that you like to do. You are SOMETHING after all. You are NOT FREE. If she wants to hang with you, it's going to cost her something — time, effort, money.

I've gotten back in touch with several long-lost friends via myspace. There's useful purposes for these types of things.
